At the time of Byeongja Holan, Qing TaeJong got submission from Injo who was the king of Chosun and the peace treaty include the clause 'Whenever Qing attacks Ming, Chosun should support Qing with backup army'. Based on this promise, RiwRim suppress Ming's Army at Gado located to the CheolSan in Pyoungan province as commander in chief of Chosun with DaRaMuYeongGunWang AJeGyeok who is commander in chief of Qing and the fourth younger brother of Qing TaeJong in 1637. However Qing TaeJong requested to the king of Chosun that dispatch backup army with RiwRim as a head to join a close Jinzhou battle near to SanHaeGwan in 1638. RiwRim crossed ApRok river with 5000 soldiers, but he returned to Chosun due to broken court day by Qing TaeJong, then he lost his original position, PyungAnByungSa, according to military discipline, then he move to SamDoSuGunTongJeSa the next year.
However, Qing TaeJong requested InJo who is the king of Chosun that backup army with RiwRim as a head join Jinzhou battle again in November, 1640. InJo appointed RiwRim as the commander in chief to prepare the battle. RiwRim started the journey from Seoul on February 20th, 1641 with 1000 firelock soldier, 500 kitchen police, 1155 horses to YoDong on March 24th then arrived Jinzhou on March 26th, 1641. In Jinzhou, HwaSeokJeongChinWang JeIHapRang, who is cousin of TaeJong, and DaRaMuYeongGunWang AJeGyeok was confronting the Ming army. Chosun-Qing allied forces attacked Jinzhou castle on March 27th, then occupied the outer castle with 6000 captives. The allied forces enticed and chased the Ming army, finally killed 171, captured 4343 on April 2nd, 1641.
The Ming's repeated defeat bring GyeongRyak HongSeungJu with 130,000 soldiers to Jinzhou. To respond this Qing TaeJong bring his army to Jinzhou on August 19th. At that time Qing TaeJong brought hostage SoHyeonSeJa and the BongRimDaeGun(= HyoJong) from SimYangGwan. There were furious battles during 10 days after arrival of Qing TaeJong. At his battle almost all of soliders of OSamGye, WangBak, BaekHwangEun, MaGwa, LeeBoMyeong, DangTong, and JangYakGi were killed toll 53783.
Qing TaeJong brought RiwRim to the headquarters and comforted him on August 26th. At the Afternoon he gave a party and SoHyeonSeJa, BongRimDaeGun, RiwRim's five generals were also invited to the party. Horses, cows, sheeps were distributed to the soldiers as a reward. RiwRim left SimYang on September 9th and arrived Chosun on September 18th. Qing TaeJong send a letter to InJo that RiwRim should have a special rewards. RiwRim placed ChaHeonDaeBu and was appointed to ChongYungSa, but replaced after 2 months later, moved back to SamDoSuGunTongJeSa, then he passed away with 63 years old in 1643.
