儒家 思想에 있어서 命의 問題 (The Issue of 'Order' in Confucian Ideology)

초록

儒家의 宗師 孔子는 그의 철학함에 있어서 순수 思辨的 存在를 탐구하는 데에 골몰하기 보다는 인간의 실존적 삶의 문제에 관심을 집중하였으며, 이러한 공자의 철학적 태도에 근거하여 우리는 흔히 儒家 사상을 일러 현실주의 철학이라고 규정하기도 한다.
그렇지만 공자의 주장이 인간의 삶에 주어지는 현실적 諸問題를 단순히 개인적 意志나 利己的 기술의 활용 등으로 해결하려는, 이른바 處世術的 차원에 머물러 있는 것은 아니다.
그는 人間萬事와 더불어 이를 둘러싼 森羅萬象의 상호 관계를 함께 유념하여, 인간은 天地自然의 理法이며, 萬物의 存在 根據인 하늘의 運行 法則(天道)에 依存하고 있기에, 인간으로서 마땅히 天道를 受容하고 이에 따라야만 한다는 規範的이고 道德的인 삶의 태도를 주창하고 있다. 한편 儒家에서는 하늘의 原理가 땅에서 실현되는 통로를 인간의 言語的 功能인 聖人의 말씀인 ‘天命’의 개념으로 설정하고 있다.
또한 天命으로 탄생하는 太初의 인격적 존재를 ‘民’(百姓)으로 규정하고, 天이 民을 生한 窮極的 理念을 ‘天地 안에서 生命的 意義를 享有하는 百姓의 日用的 삶’으로 提示하고 있다. 아울러 백성의 삶을 위해 하늘은 天道를 實現하는 天命의 代行者인 땅의 指導者(君子)를 천하 백성에게 내려준 것이다. 그러므로 땅 위에서 天意를 바르게 알아듣고 天道에 따라 天下를 다스리는 군자 노릇(治世事業)을 하고자 하면, 위로는 聖人의 말씀을 배우고(學) 아래로는 天下 百姓으로 하여금 인간답게 살아갈 수 있도록 人倫을 가르치며. 文物制度를 管掌하여, 百姓의 日用的 삶이 天地 萬物과 더불어 살아가는 平天下의 世界를 成就해야 한다.
이것이 곧 天道가 本來 志向한 理想으로서의 大同的 調和世界이며, 이를 實現하기 위한 君子의 王道 政治를 孟子는 ‘與民同樂’으로 標榜하고 있다.
이러한 天地 萬物의 生命的 展開 過程을 儒家에서는 生成과 中和의 思惟體系로써 解明하고 있으며, 인간이 추구한 窮極的 理念을 ‘天人合一’의 完成으로 理解하고 있는 것이다.
이에 본 論文은 ‘天’과 ‘人’이 서로를 相互 志向하여, 그 人格性과 生命性을 發現하고 授受하는 方式과 通路를, 인간의 言語的 토대인 ‘命’의 問題로 규정하고, ‘天-人 間의 疏通과 一體化의 過程’을 ‘생명적 조화’의 입장에서 정리해 본 것이다.
이를 통하여 天의 人格性이 실현되는 통로로서의 ‘天命’과 그 하늘의 ‘命令’이 추구한 대상으로서의 人間과 萬物의 ‘生命’. 그리고 하늘적 차원의 天命과 萬物적 차원의 生命을 相互 調和 一致시키는 현실적 차원의 ‘使命’을, 聖人. 君子. 百姓의 입장에서 구분하여 고찰함으로써, 儒家 사상의 철학적 構造 體系를 보다 深化. 擴大하는 學問的 토론의 場을 마련해본 것이다.

영어초록

Confucius, the grandmaster in Confucianism focused his attention in his philosophy on the question of the existential life of man rather than concentrating on exploring purely speculative existence. Based on such philosophical attitude of Confucius, we often refer to Confucian ideology as a realism philosophy.
Confucius's contention, however, does not remain in the dimension of so-called the art of living for solving the various real problems given to human life with personal will or by using a selfish technology.
In the consideration of all human affairs as well as mutual relationship between all things in heaven and earth around human beings, he advocates the attitude of normative and moral life where human beings must accept the way of heaven and follow it, because human beings depend on the operation law of heaven (heavenly way), which is the principle of heaven, earth and nature as well as the basis of existence, On the other hand, the confucianism establishes the path of realizing the principle of heaven on earth as the concept of 'allotment by heaven' which is the word of the saint, linguistic efficacy of man.
Furthermore, he defines the personal existence in the beginning, born with the allotment by heaven, as 'the people', and suggests the ultimate idea that heaven gave birth to the people as 'the daily life of the people who enjoy meaning of life in heaven and earth'. In addition, heaven has presented to the people on the earth the leader of the earth (Gunja君子, a man of virtue), who is an agent of heaven to realize the heavenly way for the life of the people. Therefore, if we intend to understand the will of heaven correctly on the earth, and serve as a Gunja to rule the world in compliance with the heavenly way(reign business), we shall learn the words of the saints (學), and on the other hand, teach ethics and morals to the people on the earth(敎), so that they can live like decent persons, and achieve the peaceful world in which the daily life of the people lives together with all things of heaven and earth by controlling the civilization and institutions.
This is the world of united harmony as the idea the heavenly way originally aimed for, and Mencius' calls the royal politics of Gunja to realize this as '與民同樂, sharing happiness with the people'.
In the Confucian society, such a life evolution process of all things in heaven and on the earth is clarified to be the speculation system of creation and neutralization, and the ultimate idea pursued by human beings is understood as the completion of '天人合一, unity of heaven and man'.
For this reason, this paper defined 'the system and the path', in which 'heaven' and 'man' mutually orient themselves to realize, transmit and receive their personality and life characteristics, as an issue of 'life' which is the linguistic basis of man, and summarized the 'process of communication and unification between heaven and man' in terms of 'harmony of life'.
Through this, 'allotment by heaven' as the path through which the personality characteristics of heaven is realized, the life of man and all things as the objects pursued by the 'order' of heaven, and the mission as a rational personality characteristics that mutually harmonizes and unifies the life in the dimension of heaven and the life in the dimension of all things are speculated in the individual standpoint of the saints, Gunja and people to prepare an academic opportunity for deepening and expanding the philosophical structure of Confucian ideology.
