대학 교양교육을 위한 비대면 음악비평 교육프로그램 개발 －음악과 언어와의 관계를 중심으로 (Development of a Non-Face-to-Face Music Criticism Education Program for Liberal Arts Education －Focusing on the Relationship Between Music and Language)

초록

본 연구는 대학 교양수업을 위해 실시간 온라인 플랫폼 ‘줌(zoom)’을 활용하여 음악과 언어의 다양한관계성에 기반한 비대면 음악비평 교육프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 청각예술에 기반한음악교과는 비대면 온라인 시대에 많은 제약이 있지만, ‘음악감상 및 비평’과 같은 수업은 원활하게적용될 수 있는 교육 컨텐츠라고 볼 수 있다. 감상과 비평 활동이 온라인 실시간 수업에 있어서 가지는장점은 실시간 온라인 플랫폼인 ‘줌(zoom)’을 통한 ‘컴퓨터 소리 공유하기’ 기능을 활용하면서 교수자와학습자가 같은 음질의 음악을 공유할 수 있으며, 실시간 대화 또는 ‘화면 공유’, ‘디지털 화이트보드’, ‘채팅’ 기능 등을 활용하여 감상곡에 대한 논의 활동을 효과적으로 진행할 수 있다는 것이다.
이와 같은 연구 목적과 배경에 기반하여 교양교육의 정의와 목표에 대해 알아본 후, 두 가지 큰관점에서 음악과 언어의 관계적 가능성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 미드프릭(Midfriec) 음악비평 수업모형을고찰하였는데, 이 비평모형은 2018년 고등학교 시각장애 학습자를 위해 개발된 후 우수성을 인정받았으며 재구성을 수반한다면 다른 대상 또는 학교급에도 적용가능하다는 결론이 도출된 바 있다. 따라서이렇게 고찰한 이론적 배경의 내용을 온라인 상황에 맞게 적절히 재구성하여 구체적 수업설계를 제시하였다. 이는 1학기 15주차를 기준으로 하여 전체 프로그램 계획과 동시에 한 주차에 해당하는 수업계획안을 나타낸 것이다.
이와 같은 연구의 과정을 통해 교수 설계과정에서 교수자가 특별히 고려해야 할 사항에 대해 다음과같이 세 가지로 나타낼 수 있다. 이는 첫째, 교수 설계를 하는 과정에서 교수⋅학습 내용적 측면이기존의 음악비평 수업과 비교해볼 때에 더욱 언어와의 관련성에 초점을 가지게 된다는 점, 둘째, 기존의수업 내 양태에서 보다 ‘악보 읽기’의 과정이 더 많이 필요할 수 있다는 점 그리고 마지막으로, 비대면수업 특성상 교수⋅학습 방법과 준비할 교육 자료 모두 기존의 대면 수업과는 일정 부분 달라져야한다는점이다.
본 연구를 통해 Covid-19로 지친 음악 교양교과 내 교수자와 학습자에게 효과적인 수업의 기틀이마련될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a non-face-to-face music criticism education program for university liberal arts classes, which is based on the various relationships between music and language, and which uses the real-time online platform ‘Zoom’. Music subjects based on auditory art have many limitations in the non-face-to-face online era. Nevertheless, virtual classes that allow for students to listen to music, and then to discuss their thoughts and impressions, can still provide educational content if appropriately utilized. For instance, one advantage of engaging in listening activities in online, real-time classes is that by utilizing the ‘share computer sound’ function through a real-time online platform such as Zoom, instructors and learners can share music of the same sound quality, and then engage in real-time discussions regarding that music. This is a feature that enables the smooth discussion about any number of songs by utilizing the functions of ‘screen sharing’ and ‘digital white board’.
Based on the purpose and background of this study, the definition and goals of liberal arts education were investigated, and then the relational possibility of music and language was examined from two major perspectives. Furthermore, the Midfriec music criticism class model was considered, which was developed for high school visually impaired learners in 2018, and which has been widely recognized by music instructors for its excellence. Therefore, a concrete instructional design was developed and presented by appropriately reorganizing the contents of the theoretical background considered suitable for the online environment. Here we show the whole program plan based on the 15th week of the first semester, as well as the lesson plan for one week.
Through the process of such research, the following three points can be expressed for the special consideration of the instructor in the instructional design process. First, in the course of instructional design, the content aspect of teaching and learning is more focused on the relevance of language when compared to the existing music criticism class. Second, there may be a need for more ‘score music reading’ courses than in the existing class mode. And finally, due to the nature of non-face-to-face classes, both teaching and learning methods and educational materials to be prepared must be somewhat different from the existing face-to-face classes.
This is due to the very nature of non-face-to-face classes.
