초록

본고에서는 역학연구의 기본범주를 상수와 의리와 점서로 구분하고 그 상호관계에 대해 논의한 후 그 기준을 가지고 권근역학을 평가해보았다. 상수역학의 범주에는 『주역』에서 蓍卦의 형상과 숫자에 관한 제반내용이 포함된다. 의리역학의 범주에는 괘효사에 근거하거나 십익에 나타난 의미와 도리의 내용이 포함된다. 점서역학의 범주에는 『주역』의 知來的 목적과 기능을 기본관점으로 삼아 관련 점법의 원리와 길흉판단위주의 괘효사 해석도 포함된다. 그리고 이들은 상호 중복되는 부분이 있다.
상호관계란 상수와 의리, 의리와 점서, 점서와 상수의 관련성인데 이들은 중복적 관련성을 지니기도 한다. 이 중에서 특히 상수와 의리, 의리와 점서의 관계를 어떻게 보느냐에 따라 그 성격이 구분된다. 상수와 의리는 의리의 상수근거도에 따라 관점을 평가해볼 수 있다. 의리역학적인 관점의 경우 당연히 그 관련성이 약화되면서 상수근거도가 낮아진다. 이에 비해 상수역학적 관점에서는 당연히 그 관련성이 강화되면서 상수근거도가 높아진다.
의리와 점서는 『주역』의 본래 목적과 현재적 용도에 관한 문제로 상호 배척적 관계로 볼 수 있고 일치적 관점에서 보기도 한다. 결국 한 학자의 상수와 의리와 점서에 관한 범주와 관점을 살필 때 이들 범주와 상호관계가 지닌 복잡성과 중복성 때문에 과정상 離看하지만 종합적으로는 合看해서 판단해야 한다. 한편 역학사를 정리하는 입장에서 볼 때 그 이후 학자들과 비교 가능한, 이른바 강도를 가늠해볼 수 있는 기준이 필요한데, 바로 ‘독자적 원칙의 정립과 일반화’라는 독창성과 체계성의 문제이다. 이는 세 가지 범주에 모두 공통적으로 적용할 수 있다. 본고에서는 이런 관점을 가지고 권근역학을 평가해보았다.
의리와 상수관계에 있어서 권근의 경우 경문의 해석적 차원에서는 괘상에 기반하여 의리를 추출하는 방식을 기본적으로 인정하고 따랐지만 상대적으로 의리의 상수근거도가 낮은 편에 속한다. 또한 자신이 지닌 일정한 사상체계 안에서 괘효사의 의미를 다루었다는 측면에서도 의리역학적이라고 판단할 수 있다. 권근의 경우는 길흉과 길흉의 所以로서 이치와의 관계가 서로 분리될 수 없어 병행한다는 원론적인 차원의 주장을 하였다. 그렇지만 조선후기 이후 정약용이나 심대윤 등과 비교해볼 때 점서이론에 관한 독창성은 보이지 않는다. 괘효해석에 있어서도 점서로서의 용도보다는 도리로서의 용도를 추구하는 의리역학적적 관점을 지녔으며 이런 경향은 그 이후 학자들을 분류하는 기준이 된다.

영어초록

In this paper, the basic categories of study of I-CHING(易經) were divided into Symbols-Numbers(象數), Meaning-Principles(義理), and Divination(占筮), and their interrelationships were discussed, and Kwon Geun(權近)‘s study of ICHING was evaluated based on the criteria.
The category of Symbols-Numbers(象數) includes all the details of the symbols and number of Si-Gwae(蓍卦). The category of Meaning-Principles(義理) includes the meaning(意) and Principles(理) that are based on Gwae-hyosa(卦爻辭) or appear in the Ten-commentary book(十翼) of I-CHING(易經). The category of Divination(占筮) also includes the interpretation of Gwae-hyosa(卦爻辭), which focuses on related Gil-Hyung(吉凶).
Interrelationships are the relationships between Symbols-Numbers(象數) and Meaning-Principles(義理), Meaning-Principles(義理) and Divination(占筮), and Divination(占筮) and Symbols-Numbers(象數), and they also have overlapping relationships.
Among them, the characteristics are particularly distinguished according to how you view the relationship between Symbols-Numbers(象數) and Meaning- Principles(義理), Meaning-Principles(義理) and Divination(占筮). Symbols-Numbers (象數) and Meaning-Principles(義理), can be evaluated according to the Symbols-Numbers(象數)’s root of Meaning-Principles(義理). In the case of a Meaning-Principles(義理) point of view, of course, the relationship weakens and the Symbols-Numbers(象數) basis decreases.
On the other hand, from a Symbols-Numbers(象數) point of view, the relationship is naturally strengthened and the Symbols-Numbers(象數) basis increases. Meaning-Principles(義理) and Divination(占筮) are a matter of the original purpose and present use of I-CHING(易經), and can be viewed as mutually exclusive relationships or a consistent relationships.
In conclusion, when looking at the categories and perspectives of a scholar's Symbols-Numbers(象數) and Meaning-Principles(義理), Meaning-Principles(義理) and Divination(占筮), it is of ‘separationof views’(離看) in the process because of the complexity and redundancy of these categories and their interrelationships, but comprehensively, it must be judged in a ‘combination of views’(合看) In particular, when looking at the position of organizing the history of study of I-CHING(易經), a criterion for relative evaluation of the so-called intensity is needed, which is a matter of originality and systemicity of 'establishment and generalization of independent principles'. This can be applied in common to all three categories. In this paper, we evaluated Kwon Geun(權近)‘s study of ICHING with this perspective.
In terms of Symbols-Numbers(象數) and Meaning-Principles(義理) relationship, Kwon Geun(權近) basically recognized and followed the method of extracting Meaning-Principles(義理) based on Symbols-Numbers(象數) in the interpretive dimension of Gwae-hyosa(卦爻辭), but the Symbols-Numbers(象數) basis of Meaning-Principles(義理) is relatively low.
In addition, it can be judged to be Meaning-Principles(義理) in terms of dealing with the meaning of Gwae-hyosa(卦爻辭) within a certain ideological system of his own. In the case of Kwon Geun(權近), it was considered that the relationship between Gil-Hyung(吉凶) and the principle of Gil-Hyung(吉凶) cannot be separated from each other. He argued on a principled level that the two were in parallel.
but since the late Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮), when compared with Jeong Yak-yong(丁若鏞) and Shim Dae-yoon(沈大允), he has not originally established a theory on Divination(占筮). In the interpretation of Gwae-hyosa(卦爻辭), it also has a Meaning-Principles(義理) perspective that pursues the use of Meaning-Principles(義理) rather than the use of Divination(占筮), and this trend has since become the criterion for classifying scholars.
