현대일본논설에 나타난 문말「ものだ」에 관한 고찰 (Study of “Sentences Ending with Monoda” found in Modern Japanese Articles)

초록

Based on the collection of 888 examples of sentences ending with monoda from 31 modern Japanese articles, after exempting examples that can influence the result which are beki(nakerebanaranai) monoda,tai(tehoshii)monoda, speculativemonodarou(ka) and its variationsofsentences ending with monoda, negative formmonodehanai and its variations, and sentences that do not make sense without sentences ending with monodasuch as substantive+no(na)monoda and its variationsand substance noun mono+da this study precisely classifies 231 examples of sentences(mood) ending with monodaand to analyze the relationship with the connected sentences.
The classification of the examples appear in the following order from decisive opinion(111), reminiscence(33), generality(32), explanation(27), admiration and surprise(21) to appropriateness(7), All the six classifications of monoda-sentences are used to explain the prior sentences.
Decisive opinion,reminiscence,explanation,and admiration and surpriseare the only usages of monoda sentencesthat explains the prior sentence or are explained by the following sentence. This can be represented as prior sentence+sentences ending with monoda+following sentence.
All five usages excluding appropriatenessare represented as prior sentence+sentences ending with monodaand sentences ending with monoda+following sentence,and among the other five which are decisive opinion,reminiscence,generality,explanation,and admiration and surprise,generalitywas represented more from the following sentencerather than the prior sentence.
Despite the large number of examples for decisive opinion(111), only two examples are represented as prior sentence+sentences ending with monoda+following sentence,while reminiscence(33) with less number of examples has four.
