1~6세기 광양만권 주거구조의 변천양상과 지역성 (Changes and Regionality of dwelling form in Gwangyang Bay area from the 1st to 6th centuries)

초록

전남동부지역은 기존 연구에서 마한 영역권으로 파악하고 그 변경지역으로 바라보는 시각이 지배적이었다. 아울러 이 지역은 마한과 가야의 문화가 만나는 점이지대로 마한보다는 가야에 대한 연구가 활발하게 다루어지고 있어 이 지역에 살던 집단에 대한 심층적인 논의는 소극적으로 이루어지고 있다.
이에 본 연구에서는 전남동부지역 가운데 고고학적 조사가 활발히 이루어진 광양만권을 중심으로 이 지역의 고대 문화상을 고고학적으로 조명하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 광양만권에서 1~6세기 대에 조성된 주거지를 중심으로 원래의 형태를 파악할 수 있는 것과 출토유물을 대상으로 형식분류를 진행하였다. 그 후 광양만권 주거구조의 변천양상을 살펴 보고, 주변지역과 비교를 하여 이 지역이 가지고 있는 지역성을 살펴보았다.
그 결과 이 지역은 1~4세기까지 주거구조 및 출토유물 양상은 경남서부지역과의 유사성을 보이며, 전남서부지역과는 다른 양상이다. 4세기 이후 가야, 백제, 왜 등의 세력과 교류하여 다양한 물질문화를 이루지만, 주거양식은 큰 변화가 없이 기존 전통이 유지되는 특징을 보인다. 6세기 이후 백제의 영역화과정에 의해 이 지역에 산성과 고분이 축조된다. 마한에서 백제로의 전환이 이루어진 것으로 판단되며, 주거양상에서 뚜렷한 변화는 관찰되지 않는다.
이 지역을 바라본 기존의 시각은 외부자의 관점에서 바라보았기 때문에 이 지역의 자체적인 발전을 살펴보지 못하였다. 따라서 이 지역의 문화변동을 자체적으로 점진적으로 발전하기보다는 외부 자극을 통해 이루어졌다는 견해가 대부분이었다.
본 연구를 통해 이 지역 사람들의 살아온 주거공간에 대한 검토 결과 외부 자극으로 인해 문화가 급격하게 바뀐 양상은 관찰되지 않았다. 오히려 내부적인 발전 과정에서 다양한 외부 문화를 선별적으로 수용하여 점진적으로 그들의 삶을 개척한 것으로 보인다.

영어초록

The existing eastern Jeollanam-do area was known as the territory of Mahan and was known as the border area of Mahan. In addition, there was no discussion of the groups living in this area by mentioning only the point where the cultures of Mahan and Gaya were confirmed together. This study tried to examine the culture of this region archaeologically from the 1st to 6th centuries centering on the Gwangyang Bay area, where archaeological research was actively conducted in the eastern Jeollanam-do region. For this purpose, we tried to examine the changes in the dwelling form identified in the Gwangyang Bay area and to understand the characteristics of the local culture. First of all, type classification was carried out for those whose original shape could be identified among the dwellings surveyed and those from excavated relics. After that, the changes in the dwelling structure of the Gwangyang Bay area were examined, and the regional characteristics of this area were examined by comparing it with the surrounding areas.
As a result, this area showed similarity to the western Gyeongnam area in terms of residential structure and excavated relics from the 1st to 4th centuries, and different aspects from the western Jeonnam area were confirmed. However, since the 4th century, various material cultures such as Gaya, Baekje, and Japan have been exchanged, but the existing tradition has been maintained without significant changes in the residential style. After the 6th century, ancient fortress were built in this area by Baekje's territorialization process and this area was integrated.
Since the existing perspective of looking at this area looked at this area from an outsider's point of view, it was not possible to examine the development of the area itself and considered that culture was changed by external stimuli. However, in the residential space where people in this area have lived, the rapid change of culture due to external stimuli has not been confirmed in actual archaeological data. In other words, the development of this region is believed to have gradually pioneered their lives as external cultures were accepted in internal development, and only the necessary parts were adopted by contact with them.
