초록

본 연구의 목적은 위르겐 몰트만 신학방법론의 구조와 특성을 탐구하는 것이다. 본 연구는 몰트만 신학의 형성과정 및 배경과 몰트만 신학방법론의 핵심적 성격분석을 통하여 교회와 신학의 미래를 위한 그 공헌과 한계를 평가하고자 한다.
몰트만은 신학을 체계화하려는 전통적인 교의학적 방법을 채택하지 않았으며오히려 신학 공동체 안에서의 지속적인 대화를 통한 조직신학적 접근을 시도하고있다. 그는 신학의 출발점을 예수그리스도를 중심으로 하는 성서적 내러티브에 두었고, 처음부터 끝까지 종말론적 성격을 지향했으며, 세계 역사의 변혁에 참여하는정치적 사회적 책임을 수행하는 신학의 과제와 기능을 강조했다. 이러한 몰트만 신학방법의 결정적인 특성은 성서적 내러티브에 토대를 두고 있으며 철저히 삼위일체적 구조에 근거하고 있다는 것이다. 또한 몰트만 신학방법의 성격은 대화적, 변증법적, 유비적이며 경험적, 실천적이다.
비록 적지 않은 개념적 불명료성, 논리적 정합성 결여, 치열한 논리적 집중성의 약화 등이 그의 신학방법론 안에 존재한다는 비판이 제기됨에도 불구하고 몰트만이 끊임없이 추구한 수용적이면서도 비판적인 대화를 통해 독창적인 대안을 제시하는 신학함의 자세는 높이 평가받을만한 가치가 있다. 몰트만의 다양하고 창의적이며 건설적인 특성을 지닌 신학방법은 현대신학 논의에 매우 지대한 공헌을 하고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the structure and characteristics of Juergen Moltmann’s theological methodology. Through the analysis of the formation process and background of Moltmann’s theology and its major characteristics of his theological methodology, this paper is to evaluate both contributions and limitations of Moltmann’s theological methodology for the future of the church and theology.
Moltmann did not follow the traditional dogmatical method which would systematize theology. Rather, he tried the systematic theological approach through a constant dialogue within the community of theology. Moltmann’s theology starts with the biblical narratives based on Jesus Christ. From the beginning to the end, his theology aimed at the eschatological characteristics and emphasized the assignments and functions of theology that carried out political and social responsibilities partaking in the changes of world history. The decisive characteristic of Moltmann’s theological methodology is based on both biblical narratives and thorough Trinitarian structure.
Moreover, the characteristic of Moltmann’s theological methodology is dialogical, dialectical,analogical, experiential and practical.
Although the critiques are being raised to point out a few conceptual obscurity,the lack of logical congruency and weakening of intense logical focus, his posture of constantly pursuing receptive and critical dialogue to propose creative alternative ideas must be highly regarded. Moltmann’s diverse, creative and constructive theological methodology will greatly contribute to the discussions of contemporary theology.
