페미니즘 리부트 시대 여성문학의 계보 만들기 : 한국여성문학사와 여성문학 앤솔로지의 필요성과 내용을 중심으로 (Constructing a Genealogy of Women’s Literature in the Feminism Reboot Era : A Study of the Necessity and Content of Korean Women’s Literary History and Anthology of Women’s Literature)

초록

이 글은 독자적인 여성문학사 서술의 필요성, 그리고 여성문학사의 원천 자료 역할을 하는 여성문학 앤솔로지의 필요성과 이념, 내용을 탐색함으로써 여성문학의 계보만들기를 시도하고자 한다.
먼저 필자는 근대 여성문학의 탄생, 형성, 변화, 발전과정을 총체적으로 조감하고, 여성의 글쓰기 전통을 계보화하는 독자적인 여성문학사가 쓰여야 한다고제안한다. 여성문학사 서술방법론으로는 첫째, 여성을 민족, 계급, 섹슈얼리티 등다양한 사회적 범주들이 교차되는 존재로 보고, 둘째, 여성문학이 균열과 저항, 불균질적인 목소리들이 공존하고 경합하면서 독자적인 전통을 써 왔다는 관점을취한다.
그다음으로, 필자는 여성문학의 기원, 형성, 발전의 궤적을 아카이빙한 자료정전으로서의 ‘여성주의’ 앤솔로지를 제안한다. 앤솔로지 내용 및 체제와 관련해서는 지배적인 사회질서와 문학 장과 경합하는 이질적인 여성 글쓰기와 목소리들의 부상과 쇠퇴, 그리고 여성문학사의 변전을 뚜렷이 보여주는 주요 작가와 작품의 등장을 중심으로 다음과 같은 시기 구분을 제안한다. (1)근대 초기 ‘조선의배운 여자들과 개인의 등장’ (2)식민지기 ‘식민 현실에 대응하는 사회주의자 여성과 성찰적 지식인 여성의 등장’ (3)해방과 전후 한국전쟁에 대한 젠더화된 경험과 ‘불온한 여성의 등장’ (4)개발주의 남성성을 비판하는 ‘지성을 갖춘 여성주체들의 등장’ (5)70년대 이후 가시화된 개발독재기의 젠더 통치에 대응하는 ‘중산층 여성의 히스테리적 글쓰기와 여성노동자의 체험적 글쓰기의 등장’ (6)민중민족운동 및 문학, 여성해방의식의 대두와 함께 민족, 민중과 젠더의 교차성을 심문하는 ‘운동으로서의 글쓰기의 등장’ (7)87년 체제 이후의 ‘성차화된 개인 주체’ 와 ‘여성적 글쓰기’의 다양한 양상의 출현. 이런 시기구분을 바탕으로 여성주의앤솔로지는 소설, 시, 희곡, 에세이, 선언문, 수기, 좌담회와 같은 다양한 글쓰기실천을 목록에 포함할 수 있다. 이런 개방적 앤솔로지는 매 시기 사회변동뿐만 아니라 여성문학 장과 지식장, 글쓰기의 역학관계를 고려한 점, 대표작가와 글쓰기외에 각 시대별 글쓰기 전통의 저류에 흐르는 잔여물과 잉여를 찾아내어 여성문학 전통의 일부로 의미를 부여한 점에서 기존의 정전 선택 방식과는 차이가 있다.
마지막으로, 이 글에서 제안한 여성주의 앤솔로지는 앞으로 문학수용공동체, 해석공동체, 그리고 사회역사적 맥락의 변동에 따라 다시 쓰이거나, 새로 쓰일 앤솔로지를 위한 출발점이 될 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

This article attempts to create a genealogy of women’s literature by exploring the need to write an independent women’s literary history and the necessity, ideology, and content of an anthology of women’s literature as a source for women’s literature history.
First, I argue that an independent history of women’s literature should be written that encompasses the formation and development of women’s literature. Regarding the methodology for writing such a history, first, women must be understood as existing at the intersection of various social categories, such as nation, class, and sexuality. Second, women’s literature is not a history of complete continuity and linear development; rather, it is a history of fissures, resistances, and heterogeneous voices that coexist.
Second, I propose a “feminism” canon as a canon of materials that archives the trajectory of the origin, formation, and development of women’s literature. I propose the following periodization, which focuses on the rise and fall of heterogeneous women’s writings and voices competing within the dominant social order and the emergence of major writers and works that clearly demonstrate the transformation of women’s literature history. (1) In the early modern era, the emergence of educated women of Choseon and the rise of the individual; (2) the emergence of socialist women and reflective female intellectuals in response to colonial reality; (3) gendered experiences of the post-liberation period and the Korean War and the emergence of bad woman; (4) the emergence of intellectual female subjects who criticized developmentalism and masculinity; (5) the emergence of hysterical writing by middle-class women and autobiographies by female laborers in response to gender repression that began in the 1970s; (6) the emergence of “writing as a movement” for interrogating the intersection of nation, people, and gender with the rise of the people’s movement, literature, and women’s liberation consciousness; (7) and the emergence of “gendered individual subjects” and “feminine writing” following the 1987 regime. Based on this periodization, this feminism anthology is able to encompass various forms of writing, such as novels, poems, plays, essays, declarations, memoirs, and more. The classificatory methodology of this open anthology differs from that of traditional anthologies in that it considers not only social changes but also the dynamics of women’s literature, knowledge, and writing, and finds remnants and surpluses in the writing traditions of each era.
In conclusion, women’s literary history and an anthology of women’s literature, as starting points and sources of feminist literary pedagogy, are expected to benefit the writer- reader commons after the feminism reboot. And the feminism anthology proposed in this article can rewrite existing anthologies, or serve as a starting point for writing new anthologies.
