전남동부지역 고분 출토 토기에 대한 검토 - 광양 용강리 유적을 중심으로- (A study on pottery excavated from tombs in east side of Jeollanam-do province - Investigation on remains from Yonggang-ri in Gwangyang -)

초록

이 글은 광양 용강리 고분을 토기 중심으로 분석하여 변천과정을 살펴 본 것이다. 고분의 묘실구조를 유형별로 나누고, 각 유형별 토기의 변화양상을 통한 편년을 시도하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 4기로 구분하여 특징을 살펴보았다.
Ⅰ기는 백제가 전남동부지역으로 영역을 확장한 시기로 재지적 고분양상에 백제적 요소가 나타나기 시작한다. 용강리 유적에서는 백제토기가 부장된 석개토광묘가 축조되었다. 전남동부지역에서는 가야계 수혈식 석곽묘가 일부 지속되고 있으며, 가야계토기와 백제토기가 함께 나타나는 가운데 가야계토기가 주류를 이루고 있다. Ⅱ기는 백제묘제의 유입단계로 횡구식 석실분이 축조되기 시작한다. 전남동부지역에서는 대가야와 신라를 대비하기 위한 산성을 축조하면서 백제 물질문화가 다량으로 유입되었다. 고분 부장 토기로 병형토기가 표지적 유물로 사용된다. Ⅲ기는 백제문화가 지속되면서 신라적 요소로서 토기가 나타나는 시기이다. 즉 늦은 형식의 백제 병형토기와 인화기법의 토기가 출토되고 있다. Ⅳ기는 통일신라의 묘제가 사용되는 단계로 인화문이 시문된 합의 활용도가 높으며 개배, 병형토기, 단경호는 사용되지 않고 있다.
광양 용강리 고분은 6세기 전반대부터 통일신라단계까지 축조되었으며, 유물상에서 인근의 광양 마로산성과 깊은 관련성을 가지고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this essay is to mainly analysis potteries which were excavated from ancient tombs placed in Yonggang-ri in Gwangyang and to see how they had been changed. In this essay, we made an attempt to classify into types of structure of burial chambers and prepare the chronicle through changing progress of each type of potteries. Being based on the attempt, we classified the potteries into four terms and the characteristics of each term have been written in this essay.
The first term is the period that Baekje had entered into the east side of Jeollanam-do province and characteristics of Baekje were getting to be appeared on forms of ancient tombs. In ancient tombs in Yonggang-ri, pit tombs with a stone cover that potteries of Baekje were buried were constructed. While stone lined tombs of vertical digging type of Gaya were partly maintained in the east side of Jeollanam-do province and potteries of Gaya and that of Baekje were excavated together, potteries of Gaya mainly featured.
The second term is the period that memorial services of Baekje were held and stone chamber tombs with horizontal entrance started being constructed. In the east side of Jeollanam-do province mountain fortresses to protect residents from Daegaya and Silla were built and this is the time that there was a dramatic growing influx of culture of Baekje. Bottles buried in ancient tombs are the representative object. The third term is the period that characteristics of Silla may be seen while characteristics of Baekje still remained. It means that the latter form of bottles and stamped design of Baekje have been excavated here. Finally, the fourth term is the period of the United Silla and the use rate of bowls and covers with stamped design was high while flat cups with cover, bottles and jars with short neck were not used.
Old tombs in Yonggang-ri in Gwangyang started to be built in the early 6th century and were completed in the United Silla age and the objects from them were closely related to Maro Mountain Fortress in Gwangyang.
