초록

본 연구의 목적은 현대 해석학 이론가들 가운데서 성서 해석학 분야에 가장 훌륭한 기여를 했다고 평가되는 폴 리쾨르의 성서 해석학을 분석함으로써, 그 성서 해석학을 기독교 성서 해석에 유용한 방법론으로 활용하려는데 있다. 특히, 현대 해석학자들 중에서 그는 철학적 해석학의 원리를 원용하여 성서 해석학의 방법과 목표를 독창적으로 제시하기 때문에, 그의 성서해석학은 기독교의 근본 토대를 이루는 기독교 성서에 대한 다양한 비판이 이루어지는 현실에서, 성서를 해석하는 새로운 대안이나 혹은 돌파구로 자리매김할 수 있다. 그는 철학 영역과 신학 영역이 서로 침해되지 않도록 세심하게 구분하면서도 성서 텍스트들이 펼치는 성서적 세계를 이해하려고 애쓸 뿐 아니라, 성서 해석에 있어 ‘구조적 방법’이나 ‘역사 비평적 방법’과 같은 다양한 성서 해석 방법의 이점을 인정하면서도 그 한계를 지적한다. 따라서 철학적 해석학과 깊이 결부되고 철학적 해석학과 상호 내포 관계가 있는 그의 성서 해석학은, 성서를 해석하는데 새로운 지평을 열어주는 여러 장점과 특징이 있는데, 그는 성서를 해석하는 데 있어 ‘해석 공동체’의 역할을 특별히 강조한다. 이와 같은 관점에서 출발하여 본고에서는 다음 같은 내용들을 중심으로 리쾨르의 성서 해석학에 대해 살펴본다. 즉, 아직 표현되지 않은 ‘신의 말’이 있고 신이 말할 것이 여전히 남아 있어서 완결되지 않은 채 열려진 상태에 있는 성서 텍스트 세계의 특징, 독자가 성서 텍스트의 의미를 창조적으로 만날 수 있도록 철학적 해석 이론이 그 틀 안에서 기능적으로 활용되는 ‘해석학적 아치’, 현실로부터 자기 자신과의 ‘거리 유지’라고 할 수 있는 일종의 새로운 ‘거리 유지’를 이루어지게 하는 ‘텍스트의 세계’, 성서 텍스트 해석의 다양성과 기준, 텍스트를 이해하려면 텍스트가 선포하는 것을 믿어야 하지만 텍스트가 선포하는 것은 텍스트에서만 주어지므로 믿으려면 텍스트를 이해해야 한다는 ‘해석학적 순환’, ‘원죄’와 ‘아담 신화’에 대한 고찰, 신에 대한 칭호로서의 ‘아버지’ 등이다.

영어초록

Paul Ricœur is evaluated as the one who contributed best to the field of biblical hermeneutics among the contemporary hermeneutic theorists. The aim of this study resides in the practical use of his biblical hermeneutics as the useful methods to interpret the Bible by analyzing it. Among the contemporary hermeneutic scholars, he originatively presents the method and the aim of the biblical hermeneutics by applying the principle of the philosophical hermeneutics. Because of that, his biblical hermeneutics can be established as a new alternative or breakthrough for the interpretation of the Bible in the reality in which the various criticisms towards the Bible, which constitutes the foundation of the Christianity, are prevalent. Not only does he try to distinguish carefully the philosophical field from the theological field in order for these two fields not to poach on the other field each other, but also he tries to understand the biblical world unfolded by the biblical texts for the interpretation of the Bible. While appreciating the advantages of the various interpretation methods such as the structural method and the historical critical method, he criticizes the limits of these methods as well. Therefore, his biblical hermeneutics that is closely associated with the philosophical hermeneutics and its mutual connotation in relation to the latter contains the various merits and characteristics which may open a new horizon for the interpretation of the Bible. Above all, he emphasizes the role of the interpretation community for the interpretation of the Bible. In this study, his biblical hermeneutics is examined with these following subjects : the characteristic of the world of the biblical text in state of unfinished and open (the Word of God still remains because it is not expressed yet and God has still something to say) ; the hermeneutic arch, the frame that the philosophical interpretation theory is used functionally so that the reader can creatively encounter the meaning of the biblical text ; the world of the text which constitutes a kind of new distance, that is, the distance of the oneself from the reality ; the diversity and the criteria of the interpretation of the biblical text ; the hermeneutic cycle which means that one should believe what the text proclaims in order to understand it and one should also understand it in order to believe it because what the text proclaims is given only in the text ; the consideration on the original sin and the Adam myth ; the father as the designation of God.
