송국리형취락의 공간배치 (Space Arrangement of the Songguk-ri Type Settlements)

초록

본고에서는 송국리형취락을 입지와 형태에 따라 구분해 보고 그 특징을 찾아보았다. 그 결과 송국리형취락의 입지와 취락형태는 불가분의 관계를 갖고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 점촌형과 열촌형은 지형적 한계상 대취락이 입지하기 곤란하고, 산지 능선상에 단위주거군만으로 입지한 괴촌형 또한 같은 양상이다. 따라서 이들 취락은 단위취락에 해당된다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 복수의 단위주거군으로 이루어진 괴촌형, 열촌형 혹은 괴촌형과 조합한 광장촌형은 밀집도에서 중위취락 나아가 대취락에 해당되고 있어 주변의 다른 취락과는 분명 차별화된 취락에 속한다. 그러나 광장촌형은 전기의 공간배치와 유사한 면이 있고 지역성 또한 배제할 수 없기 때문에 중심취락으로서의 기능은 다른 지역의 중심취락보다는 미약했을 것으로 판단된다. 환촌형은 대규모 취락이 입지하기에 적합한 지형과 단위주거군이 연합된 취락이면서 주거지간 혹은 단위주거군간의 차별성이 존재하고 중심적인 공간이 마련되어 있다는 특징을 갖고 있다. 또한 이들 취락형태는 관창리유적에서 간취되는 바와 같이 공간배치상에서 기능적인 측면에 따른 집중화가 고려되어 있음을 인지할 수 있다. 이러한 송국리형취락의 입지·밀집도·형태·기능적인 측면을 고려했을 때, 송국리형취락은 지역에 따라 환촌형 중심과 광장촌형 중심의 2가지 유형으로 변화 발전하였으리라 판단된다.

영어초록

This paper described classification of Songguk-ri type settlements from the viewpoint of location and formation in order to investigate the characteristic of them. In conclusion, it was found that the location and formation of Songguk-ri type settlements have an indivisible relationship each other.
Doted composition village type and Lined composition village type are located on the mountain ridge where large settlements are not able to be located because of geographical limitation. Similarly, Irregular mass composition village type which organized only united dwells is located on the mountain ridge. These village types are applicable to the settlement-units. However Irregular mass composition village type which organized several united dwells and Village with plaza type gathered Irregular mass composition village type and Lined composition village type are applicable to the middle size settlement and large size settlement according to density of dwelling.
Since village with plaza type in Chungcheong nam-do is similar to the early Korean Bronze Age settlements in the space arrangement, regionality also must be considered. Besides, the change of settlement is small in this area. Therefore it is possible that settlements in Chungcheong nam-do are inferior to other areas in the function as central villages.
Circle village type is formed in the apt place in topography gathering several groups of united settlement. The character of this type is prepared to the cauterized space, while it has the distinction between dwells or between united dwells. Similarly, considering Gwanchang-ri, these village types show that centralization occurs according to functional aspect in space arrangement.
Thus, when we consider such aspect as location, density of dwelling, formation, and function, Songguk-ri type settlements are divided into two major types; Circle village type and village with plaza type. Besides, it can be seen that these two major types change and develop as Songguk-ri type settlements in some area.
