공주 연극의 역사성을 통한 고마나루국제연극제 변천 과정 연구 (A Yedang International University Theater System Transition Process and Performance Characteristics Research)

초록

공주 연극은 1990년대 초부터 수도권 중심의 기성 연극을 탈피하고 지역 연극의 고유성을 반영한 지역문화 운동으로 확산하면서 연극의 탈중앙화, 지역 분산 양상을 보였다. 더 나아가 도시화를 통한 지역 고유의 향토성이 부각되면서 연극 소재로 역사, 설화, 인물들을 발굴하는 단초가 되었다. 특히 공주 연극은 백제 시대의 문화적 유산의 근거지로 문화적 사료가 확인되었으며 대표적으로 백제기악 탈놀이가 고증을 통해 유래되고 있다. 역사적 근거를 통해 형성된 탈춤은 세부적으로 공주의 예술가들을 통해 연극성을 통해 배가되었으며 고유성을 통한 다양한 공연들이 펼쳐지고 있다. 특히 극단‘젊은 무대’는 공연 실연을 통해 백제의 역사성을 통한 작품들을 무대화하였으며 이를 통한 극단의 조직화는 연극제를 개최하는 계기가 되었다. 지역만이 고유한 문화와 스토리가 반영된 연극제는 지자체와 협력하여 지역문화 예술 활성화에 기여하고 공주라는 관광도시 활성화에 기여하는 바가 크다. 또한 연극제가 언어성에 국한되지 않고 다른 장르와의 다원적 실험을 통해 독창적 연극제로 창조되어야 할 것이다. 특히 지역 연극이 연극제에 기대어 관객의 눈높이를 외면하고 실험적 형태의 연극을 외면하는 것은 연극이 내포하고 있는 예술 생리학적 접근 방식에도 위배 된다. 지역의 설화나 역사성을 대두로 형성된 제1회 고마나루 향토연극제는 향토라는 슬로건으로 출발하였으며 이후 향토라는 언어적 한계성을 극복하기 위해 고마나루연극제로 변경하였으며 현재 고마나루국제연극제로 외향적 발전을 꾀하였다. 본고는 백제의 유산을 통한 발전한 공주 연극의 역사성을 규명하고 지역의 향토성을 계승한다는 목적으로 설립된 연극제의 변천 과정을 연구하여 미래 연극제로 발돋음하기 위한 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 더불어 선행연구로 공주 연극의 발전과정을 규명하고 연극제에 참여한 제1회~20회까지 극단 작품을 분석하였으며 지역 연극제의 문제점과 방향성을 연구하였다.

영어초록

Since the early 1990s, the Gongju Theatre has emerged as a regional cultural movement reflecting the uniqueness of regional theater, resulting in the decentralization and regional decentralization of theater. In addition, urbanization has brought to light the unique regional characteristics of the region, which has led to the discovery of history, folklore, and characters as material for theater. In particular, Himeyu is regarded as a base of cultural heritage in the Baekje period, and the representative Baekje Lu Tarnori is derived from historical evidence. Born from a historical background, the masked dance is a unique production that enhances the theatricality of the princess artist to the smallest detail. In particular, the theater company "Young Stage” staged works through the historicity of Baekje through performances, and the organization of the theater company through this was an opportunity to form a theater festival. Theater festivals, which reflect the unique culture and stories of the region, contribute to the revitalization of local culture and art in cooperation with local governments, and contribute greatly to the revitalization of the tourist city of Gongju.In addition, theater festivals should be created not only in linguistics, but also as unique theater festivals through pluralistic experiments with other genres. In particular, the inclination of regional theater toward theater festivals and the neglect of the audience's point of view and experimental theatrical forms is contrary to the artistic physiological approach of theater. Starting with the slogan "Hometown”, it was later changed to "Gomamaru Theater Festival” after overcoming the linguistic limitation of "gokanaru”, and now it is the "1st Komanaru Local Theater Festival” formed as the Gomanaru International Theater Festival, based on local folklore and history. This paper explores the historicity of the Hime Theater that developed through the heritage of Baekje, studies the transformation process of the theater festival, which was established for the purpose of inheriting the regional character of the region, and proposes an alternative to develop it into a future theater festival.
