密陽 嶺南樓를 통해 본 韓國의 仙道文化 (Korean Sundo Culture Viewing through Youngnamlu in Miryang)

초록

본 연구는 密陽 嶺南樓의 문화 유적․유물을 통하여 한국의 전통
사상으로 내려오고 있는 仙․佛․儒 문화를 고찰하되, 그 근간이
되는 선도문화에 초점을 맞추었다. 한국에는 삼국시대 중국으로부
터 들어온 삼교(불교․유교․도교) 이전에 한국 고유의 전통사상인
仙道가 있었고, 이는 천부경 ․ 삼일신고 ․ 참전계경 의 경전을 통
해서 전해지고 있으며, 그 근본 철학의 핵심은 三元(天․地․人)사
상이다.
밀양 영남루에는 ‘영남루’, ‘천진궁’, ‘무봉사’와 ‘석조여래좌상’, ‘아
랑각’, 이외의 많은 문화유산들이 있는데, 한국선도의 전통을 이어
오고 있는 곳으로는 ‘舞鳳寺’와 ‘天眞宮’이 있다. 또 오늘날 밀양의
향토문화 축제인 ‘밀양아리랑대축제’에도 한국선도의 전통을 바탕으
로 仙․佛․儒 문화가 중층적․복합적으로 드러난다. 밀양 영남루
는 고대 이래로 선도의 전통, 仙․佛 습합의 전통, 유교문화의 전통
을 거쳐 오늘날 다시 한국선도의 전통을 계승하고 있는 곳이다.

영어초록

This study examined the Korean traditional thought of the Sundo,
the Buddhism and the Confucianism through cultural relics and
remains of Youngnamlu in Miryang to be focused on the Korean
Sundo culture. Korea had traditional thought of Sundo before
introducing the three religions, that is to say, the Buddhism, the
Confucianism and the Taoism from China in the era of the Three
Kingdoms. Youngnamlu in Miryang consisted of ‘Youngnamlu’,
‘Cheonjingung’, ‘Mubongsa’, ‘Seokjoyeoraejwasang’, ‘Arangkak’ and other
cultural heritage: Both ‘Mubongsa’ and ‘Cheonjingung’ inherited
tradition of the Korean Sundo. And, Miryang Arirang Festive that was
local festival of Miryang was based on the Korean Sundo culture to
display culture of the Sundo, the Buddhism and the Confucianism.
Youngnamlu had a Buddhist temple of ‘Youngnamsa’ in the era of
the Silla Kingdom. At that time, the Buddhism was introduced from
China to take roots in the people to be merged with Korean
traditional thought of Sundo. Therefore, the divine area of the Korean
Sundo made change to be the area of the Buddhism, and Buddhist
monks took over the functions that Sundo monks had to develop
merged culture of the Sundo and the Buddhism.. At the end of the
Joseon Dynasty, the Confucianism lost circumstances. In 1909,
Daejongkyo that was people’s religion of the Sundo was made to
revive Sundo that took roots in the Koreans’ thought. Daejongkyo
played spiritual support of anti-Japanese movement in the era of the
Japanese Imperialism.
These days, a local festival of ‘Miryang Arirang Festival’ was held at
Youngnamlu every year. The festival displayed characteristics of the
Korean Sundo. The eve of the festival was celebrated to take kindling
charcoals of ‘loyalty’, ‘knowledge and virtue’ and ‘gentleness’ at
Pyochungseowon, Yerimseowon and Arangkak, etc respectively. The
kindling charcoals were brought to Cheonjingung to be ‘the kindling
charcoals of dedication’ for Dangun who was saint of the Korean
Sundo. Youngnamlu in Miryang displayed Korean traditional culture of
the Sundo, the Buddhism and the Confucianism and the Sundo
culture played an important role. Since ancient times, traditions of the
Sundo, merger of the Sundo and the Buddhism, and the
Confucianism culture were made: And, these days, the Korean Sundo
inherited the tradition again.
