루쉰과 김학철 잡문의 담론 전개방식 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Way of Discourse Development in the Miscellanies of Lu Xun and Kim Hak-cheol)

초록

루쉰과 김학철은 당대 현실을 비판하는 잡문을 주로 썼지만, 주제 도출 방식과 담론 전개과정에서의 논거 그리고 비판 대상에 대한 태도 등에서 차이를 보인다. 첫째, 루쉰이 타인의글을 인용하고 거기서 글의 주제를 이끌어내는 데 비해, 김학철은 주변 사람들이 사는 모습을예로 들다가 주제를 이끌어낸다. 둘째, 루쉰은 주장을 정당화하기 위해 고전이나 역사에서 전고의 방식을 많이 사용하는데 비해, 김학철은 체험에서 얻은 실천적 깨달음으로 독자들을 설득한다. 셋째, 글의 말미에서 루쉰이 비판 대상에 대해 냉엄한 공격을 가하는데 비해, 김학철은 엄혹한 현실을 웃음으로 치환하여 독자가 작가의 주장에 동조하도록 하고 있다.
5.4운동의 기수였고 백화문 운동을 이끈 인물인 루쉰이 현실에 대한 대결의식을 드러내기위하여 반복과 대구와 풍자 그리고 전고의 방식을 주로 사용한 것은 그의 한문학적 교양의영향이다. 반면 중학교 졸업이 수학의 전부인 김학철은 루쉰을 사숙하여 그의 정신과 함께 잡문 창작 방법을 받아들이면서 항일 투쟁과 감옥 생활 등의 체험에서 체득한 지혜를 바탕으로주제를 자연스럽고 유머스럽게 드러내는 담론 전개방식을 창안하였다.
두 작가가 치열한 현실인식을 바탕으로 잡문을 창작하였지만 비판 대상에 대해 서로 다른자세를 보인 것은 두 작가가 처한 현실에서 기인된 바 크다. 루쉰은 내전과 공포정치 그리고항일투쟁 등으로 불안하고 암울한 상황 속에 상대 인사에 대한 테러가 횡행하던 시기에 비교적 안전한 좁디좁은 상하이 조계지에 자리 잡고 글로 적대 세력과 투쟁하였기에 더욱더 강한투쟁의지를 드러내었다. 이에 비해 김학철이 비판 대상에 대해 적대감을 드러내기보다 반성을통한 공존을 강조한 것은 다민족 국가에서 살아가는 소수민족인 조선족이 화목한 공동체를이루어야 한다는 현실을 반영한 것이라 하겠다.

영어초록

Lu Hsun and Kim Hak-cheol wrote many miscellanies criticizing theircontemporary realities, but show differences in the way of deriving themes,grounds for discourse development, attitude toward the objects of criticism, etc.
First, while Lu Hsun quoted others’ writings and derived the themes of hiswritings from them, Kim Hak-cheol drew themes out of examples found in thelives of people around. Second, Lu Hsun borrowed devices from early literaturesuch as classics and history in order to justify his arguments, but KimHak-cheol persuaded his readers based on practical enlightenments attainedfrom experiences. Third, at the end of their writings, Lu Hsun delivered a sternattack against the objects of criticism, and Kim Hak-cheol led the readers tosympathize with the writer by substituting a humor for the harsh reality.
It was because of the influence of his literacy in Chinese literature that LuHsun, the standard-bearer of the May Fourth Movement and the leader of theBaihuawen Movement, often used repetition, antithesis, satire, and themethods of early literature in order to reveal his consciousness of confrontationwith the reality. On the contrary, Kim Hak-cheol, merely a middle schoolgraduate, adored Lu Hsun and received his spirit as well as his miscellanywriting method but, at the same time, created his own way of discoursedevelopment revealing a theme naturally and humorously based on wisdom thathe gained from his life experiences such as anti-Japanese struggle and prisonlife.
Although the two writers wrote miscellanies based on their perception of thecruel reality, they showed attitudes different from each other toward the objectof criticism largely because of the realities in which they were placed. Duringthe days when terrorisms were rampant against people on the opposite side in the situation unstable and gloomy due to the Chinese Civil War andanti-Japanese struggle, Lu Hsun hid himself in the relatively safe butextremely narrow foreign settlement in Shanghai and attacked antagonisticgroups with pen and, for this reason, his strong will to fight was manifestedmore clearly. In comparison, Kim Hak-cheol emphasized co-existence throughreflection rather than exhibiting antagonism against the objects of criticism andthis is believed to have reflected the reality that Korean Chinese, a minorityin the multiracial country, had to form a peaceful community.
