정서중심 부부치료 관점에서 본 다윗과 미갈의 부부관계 (The Marital Relationship between David and Michal from the Perspective of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy)

초록

본 논문은 정서중심 부부치료이론과 목회상담학의 신학적 성찰을 통합하여 다윗과 미갈의 부부관계의 역동에 대해 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 문헌 연구 방법론을 연구방법론으로 채택하였다. 본 연구의 이론적 배경으로 성인 애착이론과 정서중심 부부치료의 이론을 중심으로 구약성경 본문에기록된 다윗과 미갈의 부부관계를 분석하였다. 애착대상과의 친밀감은 개인의 정서적 안정의 근원이며 애착대상으로부터의 손상은 갈등과 고통을 야기한다. 정서중심 부부치료는 안전기지이며 애착대상인 배우자와 불안정 애착관계를 안정 애착관계로 변화시키는 치료기법이다. 정서중심 부부치료 관점에서 미갈은 애착손상을 경험하고 다윗과 미갈은 부정적 상호작용 고리의 교착상태에 빠지게 되었다. 미갈의 정서적 단절과 애착 손상은 다윗을 향한 비난과경멸로 이어지고 결국 정서적 이혼으로 연결되었을 것으로 추론된다. 다윗과미갈의 부부관계에서 부정적 상호작용의 악순환은 교정적 정서경험의 부재와부부간의 애착결합의 실패로 고착화되었다. 다윗과 미갈의 부부관계에 있어서 소명과 언약, 이타적 사랑 그리고 용서와 화해의 과정은 결여되어 있었다.
기독교 전통과 신앙적 가치가 통합된 정서중심 부부치료의 적용은 한국 교회와기독교 상담 현장에서 유용하게 활용될 것으로 여겨진다. 한국교회는 가족해체의 위기 속에 건강한 부부관계 회복을 위한 목회적 돌봄과 상담의 적극적노력이 요청된다.

영어초록

This paper seeks to examine the dynamics of the relationship between David and Michal by incorporating theological reflections from theories of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy and pastoral counseling. To achieve this goal, a literature review methodology was employed as the primary research approach. Drawing upon adult at- tachment theory and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy theory, the study analyzed the relationship between David and Michal as de- picted in the Old Testament. It is posited that intimacy with an attach- ment figure serves as a cornerstone for individual emotional stability, whereas disruptions in this attachment can result in conflict and distress. Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, as a therapeutic ap- proach, aims to transform insecure attachment dynamics within spousal relationships into secure attachments, with the spouse serv- ing as a safe haven and attachment figure. Through the lens of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, it is suggested that Michal ex- perienced attachment-related challenges, leading to a deadlock in negative interaction patterns between her and David. Michal's emotional detachment and attachment issues likely contributed to criticism and contempt directed towards David, ultimately culminating in emotional disconnection. The perpetuation of negative interactions within David and Michal's marriage was exacerbated by the absence of corrective emotional experiences and failed attachment bonding between the spouses. Furthermore, aspects such as calling and covenant, altruistic love, forgiveness, and reconciliation were found to be lacking in their marital relationship. The integration of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy with Christian tradition and spiritual values holds promise for application within the Korean church and Christian counseling sphere. Therefore, Korean churches are encouraged to actively engage in pastoral care and counseling interventions to foster the restoration of healthy marital relationships amidst the challenges posed by family breakdowns.
