초록

본고는 연행록의 형성 과정과 특징적 면모를 중심으로 연행 지식·정보의 수집·정리 및 확대·재생산을 살펴보았다. 연행록은 견문과 기록으로 구분이 가능하다. 견문은 또 직접 견문과 간접 견문으로 나뉘며 연행에 참여한 수행원을 비롯하여 교유 인물도 지식․정보의 제공자 또는 전달자로 기능한다. 기록은 반당과 자제군관 및 동료 지식인, 심지어 역대 연행록과 각종 문헌을 망라하며 연행록의 기록화의 실체를 보여준다. 연행록은 연행 지식·정보를 수집·정리하는 동시에 새로운 연행 지식·정보를 확대․재생산에 기능한다. 이는 『열하일기』 가운데 밴댕이·새우·가오리 등 호칭과 족액·두액·구액 등 삼액의 사례에서 확인이 가능하다. 『열하일기』는 역대 연행록과 각종 문헌을 바탕으로 연행 지식·정보를 수집·정리하고 확대·재생산하여 후대 연행록과 각종 문헌에 지대한 영향을 준다.
연행록은 오늘날 ‘對中國報告書’와 마찬가지이다. 따라서 끊임없이 기존의 연행 지식·정보를 수집·정리하고 새로운 연행 지식·정보를 확대·재생산한다. 이는 ‘열린텍스트(Open Text)’와 관련이 깊다. 연행록은 완료형이 아닌 진행형으로, 개방적이고 다양한 의미를 내포하며 연행록 간의 상호작용이 포착된다. 또한 연행록의 형성 과정에서 연행 일행과 교유인물은 직간접적 견문을 통해서 연행 지식·정보의 전달자·제공자로 기능하고, 반당과 자제군관 및 동료 지식인은 연행 지식·정보를 수집·정리하고 확대·재생산에 기여한다. 연행록은 개인의 저술이 아닌 공동 저술에 가까우며 ‘집단지성(Collective Intelligence)’과 무관하지 않다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the collection․organization and expansion․reproduction of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information in terms of the formation and characteristics of Yeonhaengrok. Yeonhaengrok can be classified into experiences and records. Experience is again divided into direct and indirect experience. Attendants joining in Yeonhaeng and also persons involved in association, too, function as either providers or deliverers of knowledge․information. Records include all sorts of literatures, for example, not only Bandang, Jajegungwan, and peer intellects but Yeonhaengrok in history as well, and they reveal the substance of how Yeonhaengrok was documented. Yeonhaengrok is not just the collection․organization of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information but also the expansion․reproduction of it. This can be verified by 『Yeolhailgi』 containing names like Baendaengi (large-eyed herring), Saewoo (shrimp), or Gaori (ray) and also the examples of Samaek such as Jokaek, Duaek, and Guaek. 『Yeolhailgi』 is grounded on Yeonhaengrok in history and all kinds of literatures for the collection․organization and also expansion․reproduction of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information, and it influenced later Yeonhaengrok and all different literatures significantly afterwards.
Yeonhaengrok is similar to today’s ‘Daejunggukbogoseo (對中國報告書)’. Therefore, the collection․organization of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information and the expansion․reproduction of it take place constantly. This is closely associated with ‘open text’. Yeonhaengrok is not the form of completion but that of progress. It implies open and diverse meanings, and interaction between Yeonhaengrok is also captured in it. In the process of forming Yeonhaengrok, those joining in Yeonhaeng and those involved in association function as either deliverers or providers of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information through both direct and indirect experiences. Bandang, Jajegungwan, and peer intellects contribute to the collection․organization and also expansion․reproduction of Yeonhaeng knowledge․information. Yeonhaengrok is a collective writing rather than a personal writing, and it has something do so with ‘collective intelligence’.
