초록

《嶺表錄異》는 唐末 劉恂이 司馬로 廣州에 부임한 후 그곳의 특이한 문화와 풍물, 기후 현상과 기이한 사건 등을 기록한 문헌으로, 1,100여 년 전의 廣東을 연구하는 데 있어 중요한 사료적 가치를 지닌다.
본고는 《영표록이》의 輯佚本 가운데 ‘聚珍本’을 저본으로 하여 《영표록이》 내에서 ‘嶺’⋅‘五嶺’⋅‘嶺表(嶺外)’⋅‘廣’⋅‘廣州’ 등으로 언급된 지명을 추출하여 이들이 나타내는 지리적 배경을 고찰하였다. 아울러 《영표록이》에 수록된 여러 방면의 자료적 가치 가운데 자연환경 관련 사료와 특이음식 관련 사료를 중심으로 논지를 전개하였다. 《嶺表錄異》에 담긴 과거의 문화적 전통, 이 지역의 자연환경 등은 嶺南 지역에 대한 이해를 증진시키는 데 도움을 줄 것이다. 또한 중국과의 교류에 있어서도 문화에 대한 이해는 중요한 역할을 할 수 있는데, 이에 《영표록이》는 흥미 있고 수준 높은 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This study includes two areas of literature research and cultural research on content that produce a comprehensive version of this document through consideration of several editions of the 《LingbiaoLuyi》 and restoration of disappeared contents.
《LingbiaoLuyi》 is a record of unusual culture, nature, climate phenomena, and strange events and objects reported and heard in the region after ‘Liuxun’ took office in Guangju at the end of the Tang Dynasty in China, and has a very important data value in cultural history and regional studies in Yeongnam. First, this book is the earliest record of pungmul in the Yeongnam region.
Second, the content is relatively rich.
Third, the sentences are generally plain and accurate.
Fourth, I recorded what I saw and heard in person, so I can point out that the data reliability is relatively high in the “record of strange things.” This study is generally a study in the purely academic domain and belongs to the underlying research domain. Therefore, in the future, 《LingbiaoLuyi》 will be used as data and can be used in various fields such as private studies, folklore, and regional studies.
In addition, if a complete comprehensive version is produced through this study, it will help translate the 《LingbiaoLuyi》 in the future. This book is currently difficult for Korean readers to access, and annotations and translations will further increase its utilization.
《LingbiaoLuyi》 is a record of the culture of the Yeongnam region that felt unique to the people of Jungwon. In particular, cultural traditions of the past and folktales of this region will help improve understanding of the Yeongnam region. Understanding culture can also play an important role in economic exchanges with China, and the 《LingbiaoLuyi》 can provide interesting and high-quality information, so it can play a certain role in exchanges with China.
