조엄의 『해사일기』에 나타난 일본 통신사행로 일고찰 (A Study on the Tongsinsa's route of Japan in the Jo-um's Haesailgi)

초록

제11차 조선통신사 사행록 중 하나인『해사일기』는 정사로 참여한 조엄의기록으로 유네스코 세계기록유산으로 등재된 조선통신사 관련 기록물 중 하나이다. 이때의 사행은 제12차 조선통신사 사행이 대마도까지밖에 가지 못했으므로에도까지의 일본 육로를 왕복한 마지막 사행이었다.
제11차 조선통신사의 일본 여정은 이전의 통신사가 지난 노정을 거의 그대로답습한 것이었다. 특히 오사카와 에도 간의 육로 노정은 에도시대에 정비된 일본의 주요 가도들을 지난 것으로 2교(橋), 63역(驛)의 이전의 사행부터 굳어진통신사를 위한 하나의 루트였다.
현재 이 루트는 도카이도와 나카센도, 조선인가도 등 에도시대의 옛길을 잘보존하여 지금도 많은 도보관광객들을 불러들이고 있다. 서울과 부산 간 조선시대 통신사들이 걸었던 우리의 옛길이 거의 대부분 훼손된 것과는 대조적인 것이다. 통신사들이 걸었던 공간으로써의 이 루트는, 국내의 경우 대부분 사라졌지만 향후 조선통신사와 관련된 역사문화콘텐츠 발굴을 위한 좋은 사례이다.

영어초록

This study focused on the Joseon Tongsinsa’s eleven land-based accidents in Japan from 1763 to 1764. Joseon Tongsinsa’s Japanese route included a sea route from Busan to Daemado Island and, from Daemae Island to Osaka Bay, followed by a land route from Osaka to Tokyo. The old road between Osaka and Tokyo, which runs through Japan’s mainland and was followed by the Joseon Tongsinsa's for a total of eeleven private trips, remaineds in the form of the old road in Edo-dae, with few changes in the route. At the time, the Joseon communication route from Osaka to Tokyo, included one-room, a two-way bridge, and sixty-three stations. According to the text we examined the route covered Nakasando, Tokaido, and the Joseoningado.
Currently, Japan has reorganized its roads under the name of the “Gado” project refurbishing nearly five hundred old roads covering all of Japan including Nakasendo and Tokaido. Japan has also focused on developing various Joseon Tongsinsa tourism products, in line with the recent UNESCO listing of records from the Joseon Tongsinsa We have found, however, that the domestic routes of the Joseon Tongsinsa are damaged, and that the development of the historical and cultural contents related to the Joseon Tongsinsa is insufficient. The old Japanese road linking Gado under the name of “Suchuba” was not just a diplomatic mission meant to deliver Joseon’s state affairs to a Japanese general for the sake of friendship and goodwill between Korea and Japan, but it also a major contribution to the cultural exchanges between the two countries. This route, which is still preserved in the form of the old road, has been changed from the road of diplomacy, where the history and culture of Joseon envoys live and breathed, in the form of a trail which is why Joseon Tongsinsa is in urgent need of the restoration of Korean historical and cultural contents.
