조선시대 관모를 주제로 한 도자 차(茶) 도구 디자인 연구 (A Study on the Design of Ceramic Tea Kit with the Motif of Korean Traditional Hats in the Joseon Dynasty)

초록

전 세계적으로 정보와 문화의 활발한 교류로 인해 한국 콘텐츠에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 영향으로 한국의 문화 에 대한 관심과 수요가 급증하고 있는 오늘날, 한국적 상품 개발의 필요성을 절감하였고, 본 연구자는 고유한 한국적 특색으로 우리의 정서를 가진 조선시대 관모에 주목하였다.
관모는 선조들의 생활양식과 가치관을 보여주는 전통 문화유산으로, 특히 양반 계층에서 다양한 형태로 발달하였다. 관모에는 유교의 영향으로 의관정제(衣冠 整齊)를 중요시함에 따라 선조들은 모자가 품위를 드러내는 수단이라 여겼다. 이에 관모는 우리 민족이 가진 고유한 조형성 및 상징성, 시대상이 표현되어 있고, 당시의 미의식이 함축되었다. 그리고 선조들이 풍류의 멋을 가꾸는 수단이었던 ‘차(茶) 문화’는 우리 고유의 전통 생활문화로써 내면을 성찰하는 심리적 수양의 방편이 되었다. 차(茶)는 조선시대 임진왜란 이후 쇠퇴하였으나, 승려와 선비들의 노력으로 중흥기를 끌어냈다는 점이 차 문화에서 역사적으로 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 하지만 오늘날 평등사회와 복장의 간소화로 인하여 관모는 자연스레 자취를 감추게 되었고, 현대 생활에서 관모가 가진 정교하면서 아름다운 조형미는 찾아보기 어려워졌다. 현대의 차 문화 역시 전통 차례를 위한 문화적 의미는 약해지고, 건강과 문화를 위한 기호 음료로 향유되고 있다.
우리 문화의 고유성을 담고 있는 문화유산들은 현대에 그 의미가 온전히 유지되기 어렵다. 따라서 한국 문화상품 개발의 필요성과 우리 문화의 아름다움과 의미를 후대에 계승하고자 하는 노력으로, ‘관모’와 ‘차 문화’를 차용하여 현대의 변화된 차 문화에 활용도 높은 차 도구 개발을 하려 한다. 본 연구는 각각 ‘관모’와 ‘차 문화’가 가지는 역사적, 문화적 의미에 대해 살 펴보고, 연구한 내용을 바탕으로 본 연구자가 생각하는 관모의 조형미를 주제로 새롭게 해석하여 전통 도자 기법을 이용한 차(茶) 도구 디자인을 제안하려 한다.

영어초록

The interest in Korean content is increasing because of the active exchanges of information and culture worldwide. Today, when the interests and demands on Korean culture are dramatically increasing, the necessity of developing Korean products has been suggested, and in this study, an official hat from the Joseon dynasty with Korean affect attracts attention as a unique Korean characteristic.
Official hats are a traditional cultural heritage that shows the lifestyle and values of our ancestors and were developed in various forms, especially among the noble class. As the official hat was highly valued under the influence of Confucianism, the ancestors regarded the hat as a means of showing dignity. Accordingly, the official hat expressed the unique forms and symbolism of our nation and the phases of the times and implied the aesthetic consciousness of the time. In addition, ‘tea culture,’ a means for our ancestors to cultivate the beauty of taste, became a psychological cultivation to reflect on the inner side of our traditional life culture.
Although tea declined after the Japanese Invasion of Korea (in 1592) in the Joseon era, it is a historically important part of tea culture that led to a revival through the efforts of monks and scholars. However, due to today's egalitarian society and the simplification of attire, official hats have naturally disappeared, and it isn't easy to find the elaborate and beautiful formative beauty of official hats in modern life. Modern tea culture is also being enjoyed as a favorite drink for health and culture, while the cultural meaning of traditional rites is weakening.
It is difficult for cultural heritages that contain the uniqueness of the Korean culture to retain their meaning in modern times. Therefore, to pass on the necessity of developing Korean cultural products and the beauty and meaning of Korean culture to future generations, we are trying to develop tea tools that are highly usable in the modern changed tea culture by being inspired by 'official hat' and 'tea culture'. This study examines the historical and cultural meanings of 'official hat' and 'tea culture', respectively, and based on the research contents, the formative beauty of official hat that the researcher thinks is newly interpreted as a theme and a tea utensil design will be proposed by using ceramic techniques.
