다각적 공연예술로 본 무용 비전 (The Prospect of Dancing as a Form of Multifaceted Performing Art)

초록

21세기 몸이 화두가 되는 시대에 안타깝게도 인구감소현상 특히 학령인구감소와 더불어 무용인구가 급격히 줄어들고 있다는 사실에 접하게 된다. 이러한 현상에 대비하여 사회적 제한을 극복하고 선진교육기관으로서 거듭나고자하는 취지에 부합된 각 대학들의 취업모색은 시급하다 하겠다. 과연 대학에서는 무엇을 가르쳐야 하는가? 졸업 후 취업에 발맞추어 커리큘럼을 조정해야 하는가? 보다 더 무용의 본질이 될 수 있는 무용교육과 창작의 흐름에 맞추어야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 교육과 창작의 두 흐름 속에서 창작 즉 공연에 관련된 사항들에 대한 연구를 하고자한다.
21세기 간접보기에서 직접체험하기로 전환된 몸철학을 인식하여, 공공예술과 지역 춤으로서의 탈무대 개념의 공연예술 가능성을 점검해 보고, 또한 극장의 특성화에 따른 콘텐츠 개발로 춤을 확장시키는 방법을 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 일련의 시도는 다양한 예술 문화를 전파하는 역할을 함과 동시에 인력양성에 큰 도움이 되리라 생각한다. 또한 요즘 ‘통섭’이라는 키 워드가 대두되고 있다. 우리는 다원화된 네트워크의 필요성을 인식하고 이에 따른 적극적 활동이 이루어질 때, 앞으로 무용의 비전과 취업모색의 가능성을 내다볼 수 있을 것이라는 시론적 제시와 함께 본 연구의 의의가 있다 하겠다.

영어초록

Body is an important keyword in the 21st Century, but unfortunately, the number of people engaging in Dancing is decreasing following the trend of population decrease, especially in younger ages. Therefore, it is urgent for each college to overcome various social restrictions and become advanced educational facilities. What should colleges teach? Do they need to adjust curriculums for better job placement after graduation? The answer is that Dancing education should focus on the essence of education and creation. This study discusses issues related to performance within the trends of education and creation.
The code applied to body changes from time to time. In terms of general education courses offered by colleges, most popular courses involve experiencing the body. In other words, the new philosophy of body involves direct experience. Also, Korean dances delve into mental training, artistic aspect, functional aspect, and the specialized world of stage. As the past performance at shamanistic rituals focused on mental training through direct experience rather than indirect experience confined in proscenium stages, Korean dances have the characteristic to “be individual yet together.”Therefore, Korean dances are already multilateral. National/public or private dance companies need star performers with good appearance and entertainment leaders that can bring everyone together with good functional abilities as schools and training institutes serve educational and historical purposes. In other words, there must be diverse people and diverse opportunities. Dancing is not just stage performance. It can be used for therapy, senior welfare, general education, and so on.
To this end, this study understands the body philosophy that has been converted from indirect viewing to direct experience in the 21st Century to examine the possibility of performing art in the concept of post-stage public art and community dancing and to discuss the ways to expand the realm of dancing by developing contents for specialized theaters. These attempts are expected to share diverse art and culture and nurture more talented manpower. As there is no preceded study on the prospect of dancing as a form of multifaceted performing art, this study adopted literature study, Internet survey, and interview.
'Consilience' is another popular term these days. The significance of this study is that the future of dancing and the possibility of job placement could be discussed only when we understand the necessity of multilateral networks and promote activities to utilize the networks.
