생태학적 상상력을 통해 본 김영랑의 "청명(淸明)" (Kim Yeong-Rang's Cheongmyeong through His Ecological Imagination)

초록

김영랑의 <청명>은 그의 다른 작품과 같이 개작의 과정을 거치면서 변화하였다. 그러나 이러한 개작이 어떤 의미가 있고 어떤 문제가 있는지 구체적으로 밝혀내지 않으면서 연구자와 독자의 혼란이 발생하고 있다. 또한 김영랑의 대부분의 초기시에서 발견되는 자연 친화적 사유가 <청명>에도 그대로 답습되어 자연과의 조화나 합일, 물아일체의 시로만 읽히고 있다.
이 연구는 개작된 내용을 시의 여러 효과 면에서 평가하고 시어 해석의 문제를 시의 분석을 통해 해결하여 원전 확정에 기여하고자 하였다. 그리고 김영랑의 <청명>에 나타난 ‘생태학적 상상력’을 세밀하게 분석하여 그의 시가 단순히 자연 친화적인 시로만 볼 수 없고 풍부한 생태학적 상상력이 발휘된 시임을 확인하였다.
『영랑시집』에 발표된 후 『영랑시선』에 개작된 <청명>의 시구는 모두 6곳이다. 그 중 ‘-라’ 어미의 첨가를 제외한 5곳의 개작은 시적 긴장감이나 시의 응축성, 시의 구조적 통일성에 비추어 실패한 개작이라 할 수 있다. 시어 해석은 ‘청명’이 24절기의 하나라고 한다면 4월 5일 경이 되므로 가을이라는 시간적 배경과 맞지 않고, ‘취여진’은 물기가 배어 젖어든 모습으로, ‘별쌀’은 ‘별빛’이 아니라 별의 빛살로, ‘왼소리’와 ‘앞소리’는 사전적 의미가 아닌 문맥적 의미로, ‘내집’을 ‘무덤’으로 해석하면 연결이 부자연스럽다는 것을 확인하였다.
<청명>은 지구 생태계 내 인간과 자연이라는 구성원이 서로 순환적 질서 속에 유기체적 속성을 보인다는 점을 드러내고 있으며, 인간과 자연의 동등한 관계성에 중점을 두고 오묘한 자연의 섭리 앞에 겸허한 자세가 되어야 한다는 것을 표현하였다. 또한 자연의 신비로움을 생명의 시원으로 인식하고 자연과 인간이 서로 영향을 주고받는 관계이므로 인간이 자연을 대하는 태로를 새롭게 해야 한다는 점을 드러내고 있다.

영어초록

Kim Yeong-rang's Cheongmyeong changed through an adaptation process like other works of his. Confusion is, however, felt by researchers and readers as there is no specific investigation into what meanings and problems his adaptations had. In addition, Kim's nature-friendly thinking found in most of his early poems is also recognized in Cheongmyeong, which has thus been read only as a poem about harmony and unity with nature and oneness between man and nature.
This study set out to evaluate the content that was adapted in the various effects of poetry and solve the issue with the interpretation of poetic words through their analysis, thus contributing to the settlement of the original work. The study also analyzed Kim's "ecological imagination" in Cheongmyeong in details, demonstrating that this poem was not a simple nature-friendly work but a work filled with his rich ecological imagination.
There are total six adaptations to the lines of Cheongmyeong in Yeongrang Siseon following the publication of Collection of Yeongrang's Poems. Except for one adaptation that adds an ending ‘-라,’ five of the adaptations are considered as a failure in terms of poetic tension, poetic condensation, and structural unity through the poem. As for the interpretation of poetic words, "Cheongmyeong" falls on April 5 given that it is one of the 24 seasonal divisions, which means that it does not match the time background of the poem set in autumn. There are unnatural connections in the poem as ‘취여진’ is interpreted as a state of being soaked with water, ‘별쌀’ is interpreted as rays of stars rather than "light of stars," ‘왼소리’ and ‘앞소리’ are interpreted in contextual meanings rather than dictionary definitions, and ‘내집’ is interpreted as a "grave."
Cheongmyeong reveals that man and nature as members of the Earth ecosystem have their organic attributes to each other in the cyclic order and insists that man should have a humble attitude before the profound and mysterious providence of nature with a focus on equal relationship between man and nature. Since man and nature are in a relationship of exchanging influences each other based on the awareness of nature's mysteries as the origin of life, the poem raises a need for people to renew their attitude toward nature.
