시장 및 사용자 분석을 통한 랩 커터 디자인 개발 (Plastic Wrap Dispenser Design Development through Market and User Research)

초록

국내 랩 시장의 성장과 활성화에도 불구하고 랩커터 시장은 시장형성 조차 어려운 상황이다. 이에 본연구는 시장선점을 위한 랩커터 디자인의 개발을 목적으로 한다. 연구목적의 달성을 위해 다음과 같은 방법을 사용했다. 우선 국내⋅외 시장에서 판매 중인 랩커터 상품의 현황 및 특성을 분석했다. 이를 위해 국내외 포털사이트 및 온라인마켓에서 유통 중인 랩커터를 검색해 자료를 수집했다. 이후, 랩커터 사용자의성향, 행태 등을 파악하기 위해 랩상품의 중사용자 집단을 도출하고 컨텍스츄얼 인쿼리를 통해 이들의 사용행태를 분석했다. 그리고 시장 및 상품 현황, 특성분석과 중사용자 행태분석결과를 종합해, 상품개발 방향을 도출했다.
국내⋅외 랩커터 상품현황 및 상품특성 분석결과, 생활⋅문화적 차이에 기인하는 각 시장별 주류 유형을발견할 수 있었다. 국내는 슬라이드 컷팅의 핸디형이, 국외는 프레스 컷팅의 테이블탑형이 두드러졌다. 다음으로 국내의 경우, 랩커터 시장 형성의 어려움으로 인해, 랩커터 사용자에 대한 접근이 어려워, 랩 상품의중사용자에 대한 조사⋅분석이 이루어졌다. 이에 중사용자 유형을 도출하고 각 유형별 라이프스타일 분석및 관찰, 면접조사를 통해, 선호 상품 성향, 사용 행태적 특징 및 요구사항 등을 분석했다. 라이프스타일 분석결과, 최근 제품디자인 트렌드(형태, CMF)의 반영과사용행태 분석결과, 랩 포장박스의 기능적 개선, 랩 펼침과 절단 시 밀림방지, 이동성을 고려 한 핸디형의 제품개발, 등의 요소가 요청됨을 알 수 있었다.
이 같은 시장 및 상품현황 분석, 사용자 분석결과를종합해, 국내 사용자들의 선호 랩커터 유형인 슬라이드 컷팅의 핸디형을 기반으로 3개의 디자인을 개발했다. 각각의 디자인은 단순한 형태, 자연소재와 색상, 랩의 밀림방지, 슬라이더 조작의 용이성에 중점을 두고 개발되었다.

영어초록

Despite of the growth and vitalization of the plastic wrap market, the formation of the wrap dispenser market has been hindered in Korea. Hence, this study aims to develop product designs of wrap dispensers to take lead time advantages. To obtain the aim, we executed market analysis and user research. As the product analysis, collected were information of wrap dispensers sold in domestic and overseas online markets in terms of current conditions and characteristics of the products. As the user research, first, plastic wrap heavy user groups were drawn and then their behaviors in using plastic wraps were analyzed through contextual inquiry with observation, interview. Integrating the findings from the market analysis and user research, design development directions of the wrap dispenser were drawn Through the product research, found were product design preference of wrap dispensers resulting from cultural difference. In the domestic market and the overseas market, handy type dispensers with a sliding blade and table-top types with a pressing saw blade were prominent respectively. Then, as the user research, because of scarcity of wrap dispenser users resulting from non formation of wrap dispenser market, plastic wrap heavy users were searched. Through the user research, plastic wraps heavy users’ lifestyle and behavioral characteristics were analyzed. According to of their trendy lifestyle, it was found that applying recent product design and CMF trends to wrap dispenser design was effective. As the result of user behavior research, it was found that required were anti-slip function, easiness of using slide cutter, handy type for portable use.
Reflecting the findings from the market and heavy user analysis, three design solutions were developed.
In housing design, the solutions were focused on simple form, natural color and material In the aspect of functions, adopted were anti-slip function, and usability of slide cutters based on handy type wrap dispensers preferred in the domestic market.
