멜랑콜리(Melancholy) 사례 연구 -크리스테바(Julia Kristeva)의 후기 구조주의 정신분석관점에서- (An Exploration of Melancholy Case: From the Perspective of Kristeva’s Post-Structuralist Psychoanalysis)

초록

This study is to connect a melancholy case of Mr. A to the psychoanalysis of Kristeva. While Freudian Psychoanalysis has explained melancholy from the perspective of the object’s loss and self’s retreat of libido so far, Kristeva’s New Psychoanalysis sees it not as the object’s loss but as the loss of ‘Chose.’ ‘Chose,’ which means the loss prior to the loss, is involved in an originally primitive affection. So, Mr. A’s Melancholy is a indescribable mourning, which is not a pathologic symptom, as a kind of defense for the maintenance of self’s consistency. The inside of Mr. A after the removal of mourning is nothingness. Kristeva’s Psychoanalysis makes his meaningful mourning through the language by putting a new meaning into this space of nothingness. Thus humans become a subject when he/she is able to create its meaning. While Kristeva’s New psychoanalysis states that the healing of psychoanalysis is an endless journey, it also shows how a melancholy human becomes a subject is not to overcome a mourning period, but to show that one can actually live with a mourning that never ends.
