하이데거의 멜랑콜리 해석 －창작하는 자유인의 무거운 심정－ (Heidegger's Interpretation of the Melancholy －Melancholy of the creative free man－)

초록

We are always living in the specific feeling(mood/Stimmung). It is the same even in case of the philosopher. No matter how reasonable the thought is, it is not able to exclude a feeling absolutely. If a basic feeling which has governed occidental philosophies exists, what kind of feeling is that? This study which asks such a question, will reconstruct a possible respond in Aristotle and Heidegger's philosophy.
First of all, comparing a Rodin's work, Le penseur, with a old statue of Buddhism(Kumdongmirkbosalbangasayu), that described a thinking buddhist, the melancholy is proposed as the mood which is appropriate for only a work of Rodin, in which a typical occidental thinker is incarnated. Here, we notice that it is possible to propose the melancholy as a basic mood (Grundstimmung) of the occidental philosophy. But we must consider a philosophical approach to the mood before studying about the melancholy. As Heidegger acutely pointed out, the mood is not only inevitable in the philosophical thought but has the strength to determine the philosophical thought. Then the first basic mood in the occidental philosophy, that is, the astonishment(ϑαυμάζειν) of Being is to consider.
Finally studying Aristotle's view, that all extraordinary philosophers are melancholic, we examine the interpretation of Heidegger about that. According to Heidegger, the philosophy is a kind of creation and the creation(schaffen) is a world - formation (Weltbildung) and the human being(Dasein) should be free in order to reveal the world- formation. Here, the freedom of human beings means originally the openness to the Being. Such a ex- istent freedom is possible only through the decision to venture one's life. So free creator must feel the weight of the freedom, that is, the heavy mood(Schwermut) of the whole self- being. Therefore the occidental philosophy that creative men have made freely, must have been performed in the heavy mood of the melancholy.
