황해도진오기굿 <안등신좌정거리>의 의미 (Study on the Meanings of Andoengsinjwajeong, Hwanghae-do Jinogi Gut from and the Grammar of Gut Practice)

초록

이 글은 황해도진오기굿의 한 거리인 <안등신좌정거리>의 굿 연행 원리로의 의미를 살핀 글이다. 황해도 진오기굿에는 산천의 신령을 모셔 굿문을 여는 <산천거리>를 연행하지 않는 것이 일반적이다. 이는 망자를 굿의 중심에 두기 때문이다. 그런데 몇몇 만신들은 <안등신좌정거리>를 연행하여 산천신령에 대한 의미를 드러낸다. 망자를 저승에 보내야 하기 때문에 제대로 격식을 갖춰 모시지는 않지만 굿청에 좌정하라고 올리는 굿이다. <안등신좌정거리>를 통해 산천신령이 굿청에 와있음을 드러내는 것은 산천신령이 굿문을 여는 기능을 가지고 있어서이다. 이러한 기능은 서울굿의 <가망청배>에도 그대로 보인다. 서울굿의 가망과 황해도굿의 산천신령은 굿문을 연다는 공통의 기능을 가지고 있다. 논의를 확장하면 동해안굿의 <골매기거리>로 이어진다. 골매기 역시 동해안굿에서 반드시 연행되는 거리로 굿문을 여는 의미를 가지고 있다. 골매기는 마을의 조상으로 여기는 신령으로 산천과 동일하게 지역신령이고, 가망과 동일하게 굿청을 여는 신령이다. 동해안굿에는 조상을 모시는 별도의 <가망굿>이 있으며, 황해도굿의 산천신령과 서울굿의 가망이 모두 조상과 연결될 수 있어 동일한 의미가 있다. 결국 <안등신좌정거리>는 산천의 신령을 모시는 의미가 있으면서 조상에 대한 인식을 드러내는 굿거리이다. 그런 점에서 <안등신좌정거리>는 굿 연행 원리의 하나가 될 수 있다.

영어초록

This study has explored the meanings of the gut practice grammar of Andoengsinjwajeong, one session of Hwanghae-do Jinogi Gut. It is typical that Hwanghae-do Jinogi Gut does not practice Sancheongeori, which opens the gut gate by worshiping the deities of mountains and rivers, which indicates that it places the highest priority of gut on the dead. However, some shamans practice Andoengsinjwajeong to reveal the meanings of the deities of mountains and rivers. They say that it indicates an intent to at least serve such deities at Gutcheong (ritual space) although they are not able to serve them with the strict formality because guiding the dead to the afterlife is a higher priority. Revealing the fact that the deities of mountains and rivers are at Gutcheong is because the deities of mountains and rivers have the authority to open the gut gate. This particular function is also incorporated in the Gamangcheongbae of Seoul Gut. The Gamang of Seoul Gut, known as the god that oversees the origins of all the deities in Korean folk religion, and the deities of mountains and rivers of Hwanghae Gut are known to have a common function of opening the gut gate. Expanding the discussion, it leads to the <Golmaegigeori> of the Eastern Coast Gut. Golmaegi, one of the required sessions of Eastern Coast Gut, also means opening the gut gate. Golmaegi, a deity equivalent to the ancestor of the village, is a local deity much like the deities of mountains and rivers and opens the gut gate just as Gamang does. The Eastern Coast Gut has a separate Gamang gut intended to serve the ancestors, and the deities of mountains and rivers of Hwanghae-do Gut and Gamangs of Seoul Gut carry the same meaning in that both of them are associated with the ancestors. In conclusion, Andoengsinjwajeong is a gutgeori that reveals the awareness of ancestors while serving the deities of mountains and rivers at the same time. In this regard, Andoengsinjwajeong deserves to be one of the practice grammars.
