고심도 청각장애 청소년과 성인들의 컴퓨터 기반 듣기프로그램의 훈련 효과 (Efficiency of the Computer Based Listening Training Program for the Severe to Profound Hearing-Impaired Teenagers and Adults)

초록

15 severe to profound hearing-impaired teenagers and adults, who were stable in hearing due to wearing hearing aids or having cochlear implant more than 10 years, were training by computer based listening program, which was coded in Praat. They were training 30 minutes a day for 3 months.
Despite the subjects accomplished 95% on monosyllabic words and 90% on sentences by average before training, they showed 100% correct responses on both of them in closed-set (one having multiple choices) test after training. When it comes to the open set (one having no multiple choices) test, even if there were some subjects showing less than 50% competence before training, all of the subjects showed more than 80% accomplishment after training. The difference between before and after training was statistically significant (p<.05).
As the functions of CI and hearing aids are more dramatically improved within last decade, the hearing impaired even has expected to listen to the music and had a phone call with unfamiliar person, and even they have hoped to watch Korean movies without Korean subtitle. For achieving this stuff, they are supposed to be accustomed to the acoustic characteristics of Korean phonemes by training. This suggested program, hence, contained such components as listening acoustic characteristics of consonants in word initial and final position, distinguishing minimal pairs in two words in a sentence, listening sentences and listening paragraphs with variety of lengths.
