Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the variables that ffaect regular employment, earned income, and employment characteristics of female graduates in sports studies.
Method: 937 sports-related majors data (280 females and 657 males) form the Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) from 2015 to 2019 were used. Regressiona nalysis, logistic regression analysis, and descriptive statistics were performed to analyze the effects o ffamily background, university information, job value, employment program participation, job preparation, and employment goals on regular employment and earned income of female graduates in sports studies.
Results: The results of this study are as follows. 1) The regular emopylment of female graduates in sports studies were mainly educational institutions, and the types ofw orkplaces were public institutions (including schools) and non-profit groups. In the sports service industry and other educational institutions, the frequency of employment was high, but the proportion of non-regular workers was high. 2) As the employment path for regular employment, the ratio of examination and open recruitment was high in the employment path. Recommendations by social networks (relatives, acquaintances, school, etc.) were frequent, but the proportion of non-regular employment was high. 3) National/Public universities, employment stability as a job value had a positive effect on the regular employment of female graduates in sports studies, the relevance to the major as job values, and the number of certifications had a negative ffect. 4) 4-year university, the match between work and education level as a job value and work experience wlhei at university had a positive effect on th e earned income of female graduates in sports studies.
Conclusion: In summary, the regular employment of female graduates in sprots studies is mainly found in public institutions (including schools), and the employment paht has a high rate of open recruitment and e-x aminations, and the earned income is affected by the 4-year uvneirsity, the match between work and educ-a tion level as job value and work experience while at universi.t yThis study has significance in that it explore d the values affecting regular employment, and earned income and employment characteristics of female graduates in sports studies and it was intended to produce practica lknowledge for career education of female graduates in sports studies.
