헤르조그 & 드 뮤론의 건축적 표현에 나타나는 내·외부의 경계적 특성연구 (A Study on the Boundary Characteristics of Interior and Exterior in the Architectural Expression of Herzog & de Meuron)

초록

건축은 환경과 인간의 관계를 제어 및 조절한다. 이전과 비교했을 때 현대건축은 사회의 흐름에 따라 공간적으로 다양한 변화를 한다. 현대에서 건축공간을 독립된 실체로 바라보던 인식이 무너지며, 내·외부 경계의 인식이흐릿해지고 있다. 현대 건축가들은 이전의 관습을 탈피하며 경계로서의 표면 물성에 관하여 다양한 시도를 하고있다. 본 연구는 헤르조그 & 드 뮤론의 건축물에 나타나는 표현 물성을 통하여 내, 외부의 경계적 측면으로 특성을 분석하고자 한다. 사례분석을 통하여 내·외부의 관계에 관한 다양한 건축의 접근표현 방법을 분석하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구 범위는 헤르조그 & 드 뮤론의 건축작품을 대상으로 삼으며, 그들의 건축 사상과경계의 이론적 고찰을 참고문헌과 학위논문 등 다양한 자료들을 수집하며 연구를 통해 내·외부의 경계적 특성을 도출한다. 그러한 특성과 본 연구의 중심이 되는 건축가 헤르조그 & 드 뮤론이 강조한 물성의 본질을 이해하며 그것으로부터 파생되어 나온 표현요소들을 추출하여 정리하였다. 그들의 건축표현특징인 물성의 표현과경계를 바탕으로 세 가지 요소로 나누어졌다. 왜곡, 분리, 결합의 경계구조로 정리되었으며 이를 중심으로 특성들을 분석하였다. 그 결과 3가지 경계적 특성 요소에서 6개의 건축표현 특성이 도출되었다. 건축공간에서 왜곡의 경계구조는 투명성, 연장성이 나타나며, 분리의 경계구조에서는 교란성과 패턴성, 결합의 경계구조에서는 구축성과 장소성이 나타났다. 헤르조그 & 드 뮤론의 건축표현 사례의 분석을 통하여 그들의 건축표현에서는 투명한 물성을 사용하여 실체를 비물질화 시키며 시간성에 따라 내·외부의 경계가 변화하며 모호하게 하는 왜곡의경계와 건축 본래의 물성을 살려 장소의 감각을 불러일으키고, 내·외부가 자연경관과 함께 융합되는 결합의 경계가 나타남을 볼 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 건축공간이 자유로운 활동과 다양한 시지각적 체험을 위한 경계가없는 공간의 방향성을 제시하며, 빠른 시대변화의 흐름에 따라 건축의 물성 변형과 기술적 혼합을 이용하여, 환경과 융합되는 새롭고 다양한 건축을 구축하길 기대한다.

Architecture controls and controls the relationship between the environment and human beings.
Compared to before, modern architecture makes a wide variety of spatial changes depending on the flow of society. As the perception of building space as an independent entity in modern times is collapsing, the perception of internal and external boundaries is becoming blurred.
Modern architects are breaking away from previous conventions and making various attempts on surface properties as boundaries. This study aims to analyze characteristics in and outside boundary aspects through the expressive properties shown in the architecture of Herzog & de Mureon. The purpose of the study is to analyze the various architectural approaches to internal and external relationships through case analysis. This research scope targets the architectural work of Herzog & de Mureon, and collects various materials, including reference and academic papers, and draws boundary characteristics inside and outside through research. We understand that characteristic and the nature of the material emphasized by the architect Herzog & de Mureon, who is the center of this study, and we extract and summarize the expressions derived from it. They were divided into three elements based on the expression and boundary of their architectural manifestations. The boundary structure of distortion, separation, and combination was organized and the characteristics were analyzed around them. As a result, six architectural presentation characteristics were derived from the three boundary characteristic elements. In architectural space, the boundary structure of distortion shows transparency and extensibility, and in the boundary structure of separation, the confounding and patternability, and the boundary structure of combination, the constructivity and the placeability appeared. Through the analysis of the architectural manifestations of Herzog & de Mureon, their architectural manifestations show the boundaries of distortion that are non-materialized using transparent properties, which change internal and external boundaries depending on time, and create a sense of place by using the original nature of the architecture, and the boundaries of unity that are fused with the natural landscape. Through this study, we hope that the architectural space presents the direction of the boundaryless space for free activities and various visual experiences, and to build a new and diverse architecture that converges with the environment by utilizing the material deformation and technological mix of architecture in accordance with the rapid changes of the times.
