지역사회 평생학습동아리 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (The Factors Affecting Community Participation in Lifelong Learning Circles)

초록

본 연구는 평생학습 동아리 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 탐색적 연구이다. 영향요인으로서 개인요인, 환경요인, 사회적요인, 지역사회참여와 학습자 역량 요인을 설정하고 분석하였다. 본 연구 목적은 지역사회 평생학습동아리 참여를 활성화할 수 있는 기초자료와 시사점을 발견하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전국 61개의 평생교육기관 성인학습자 1,302명을 대상으로 로지스틱 회귀분석방법(logistic regression)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 학습자 유형, 평생학습 참여기간, 평생교육 정책 인지 정도, 평생교육기관 경영특성, 교수자 및 학습자와의 학문적․사회적 상호작용, 지역사회참여와 학습자 역량 면에서 평생학습동아리 참여 집단이 미참여 집단보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이를 요인별로 정리하면, 첫째 평생학습동아리 참여에 영향을 미치는 개인 요인은 성인학습자의 유형, 평생학습 참여기간이다. 둘째 환경 요인은 평생학습도시 여부, 평생교육기관 경영특성, 교육기관 교․강사 수, 강의실 수이다. 셋째 사회적 요인은 학습자 간 사회적 관계, 지역사회참여와 학습자 역량이다. 지역사회참여와 학습자 역량 요인은 지역사회 친목조직 참여, 자기주도 학습능력, 문제해결능력, 대인관계능력이다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 학습동아리 참여를 확대하기 위한 방안을 제안하였다. 즉 학습 참여 지속과 학습 환경의 제고, 지역사회 주민의 자생력 및 역량 개발, 학습동아리 참여의 결과의 실천 등으로서 지역사회 평생학습과 학습자 개인의 삶에 긍정적 영향을 줄 수 있는 방안 등이다. 본 연구는 지역사회 평생학습동아리 참여 및 활성화뿐만 아니라 평생학습 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

This study is an exploratory study on factors influencing participation in lifelong learning circles. As the influencing factors, personal factors, environmental factors, social factors, community participation and learner competence factors were set and analyzed. The purpose of this study is to find basic data and implications that can activate the participation of community lifelong learning circles. For this purpose, 1,302 adult learners of 61 lifelong educational institutions in Korea were analyzed using logistic regression analysis. The results are as follow. Learner participation group is higher than non - participation group in terms of learner type, duration of lifelong learning, perception of lifelong education policy, management characteristics of lifelong education institution, academic and social interaction with instructor and learner, community participation and learner competence. First, the personal factors influencing participation in the first lifelong learning circle are the type of adult learners and the duration of participation in lifelong learning. Second, the environmental factors are the existence of lifelong learning cities, the characteristics of management of lifelong educational institutions, the number of teachers and lecturers, and the number of classrooms. Third, social factors are social relations among learners, community participation and learner competence. Community involvement and learner competency factors are community involvement, self - directed learning, problem - solving skills, and interpersonal skills. Based on the results of the study, I proposed a plan to expand participation in learning circles. In other words, it is the continuation of learning participation and improvement of learning environment, development of self-resilience and capacity of community residents, and practice of result of participation in learning circle. These include ways to positively impact the lifelong learning of the community and the lives of learners. This study is expected to contribute to the development of lifelong learning as well as the participation and activation of lifelong learning circles in the community.
