초록

본 연구의 목적은 동아시아 삼국의 전통과 현대의 과도기에 속하는 근세기 서양화법의 도입과 전개 그리고 특성을 고찰해 보고자 한다. 초기 서양화법 도입과 수용 태도가 삼국의 전통회화와 근대화 과정에 끼친 영향을 비교 고찰해 봄으로써, 근세기 삼국의 회화와 문화를 국제적인 안목에서 바르게 이해하고, 우리의 과거와 현재를 성찰해보고자 함이다. 그 당시 삼국의 회화는 문인화 외에 청대는 조선의 민화에 해당하는 연화(年畵), 조선 후기는 풍속화와 민화, 에도시대는 풍속화에 속하는 우키요에가 있었다.
근세기(18～19세기) 동아시아의 삼국은 청 시대, 조선 후기, 에도시대에 해당되는 시기이다. 이 시기는 서민문화의 융성이라는 공통적인 근대성문화 현상과 초기 서양화법의 수용으로 문화충돌과 변화가 전개되는 시기였다. 초기 서양화법의 도입순서는 중국, 일본, 한국이다. 중국은 명말 청초에 도입되고, 일본의 경우 제한적 1차 유입은 16세기 중반이지만 일본과 한국은 18세기 중엽 이후이다. 각국이 당면한 지리적 환경과 정치 상황에 따라 서구 문화의 유입 경로와 수준 차이가 있었다. 근세기에 일본은 적극적으로 미술을 근대화를 이루기 위한 국가적 도구로 활용하였고, 중국과 중국에서 서양화법을 간접 유입한 한국은 전통화법을 고수하여 절충수용을 택했다. 그런데 일본은 서양화법의 실용성과 공리성을 주장한 화론서의 등장 등 적극적인 실천으로 근대화에 성공했고, 근대에는 동아시아에서 선두를 달리는 선진국․강대국이 되었다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the introduction, development and characteristics of modern Western painting techniques in the modern period of the Three Kingdoms of East Asia. By comparing the effects of the introduction of Western painting techniques and acceptance attitude on the process of traditional painting and modernization of the Three Kingdoms, we want to understand the paintings and culture of the Three Kingdoms in the near-century from an international perspective and reflect on our past and present. In addition to literary paintings of the three kingdoms at that time, there were Yeonhwa (Yeonnyeon), which is a folk painting of Joseon, and Wukiyo, which belonged to folk painting and folk painting of Joseon in the late Joseon Period, and Ukiyo, which belonged to folk painting of Edo period.
The three kingdoms of East Asia in the recent eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were during the Qing Dynasty, the late Joseon Period, and the Edo Period. This was a time when cultural conflicts and changes were developed due to the common modern cultural phenomenon of fostering the culture of the working class and the acceptance of early Western painting techniques. The introduction order of early Western painting techniques is China, Japan and Korea. China is the Ming Mal Cheongcho, and in the case of Japan, the limited primary inflow is in the mid-16th century, but Japan and Korea are after the mid-18th century. Depending on the geographical environment and political situation facing each country, there were differences in the inflow path and level of Western culture. In the recent century, Japan actively used art as a national tool to achieve modernization, while Korea, which was indirectly introduced from China and China, chose to accept a compromise by sticking to traditional painting techniques. However, Japan succeeded in modernization through active practice such as the emergence of a book of painters who argued for the practicality and utilitarianism of Western painting techniques, and in modern times, it became a leading developed and powerful country in East Asia.
