고양 탄현동 구석기유적의 성격과 연대 (Character and dating of Goyang Tanhyun-dong Paleolithic Site)

초록

경기도 고양시 일산서구 탄현동 1-129, 1 1 1 - 1 3 번지 일원에 분포하는 고양탄현동 구석기유적은 고양 탄현 공동주택신축공사지역 내 구석 기유적 에 대한 구제발굴조사로 부분적인 표본시굴조사{2007년 1 0월 18 일∼2007 년 1 0월26) 7일, 표본시굴확인조사{2007 년 1 1 월 4 일∼2007 년 1 1 월 1 1 일) 7 일, 발굴초사가 (2007 년 1 2월 5 일∼ 1 2월 26 일) 18 일 퉁, 총 32 일에 걸쳐 실시되었다.
이러한 발굴조사 결과 층위는 1 s개로 분류되었으며, 대형의 몸돌(core) 및격지( tlake)를 비롯하여 찍개(chopper, chopping tool), 여러면석기(polyhedral), 주먹찌르개(pick), 주먹 대때(plane), 긁게(csraper, core-scraper), 밀개(end scraper), 부스러기(debris), 모룻돌(anvil) 등 307점의 유물이 제2지충 갈색찰흙충, 저)3 지층 적갈색찰흙층, 제4지층 다갈색찰흙층, 저JS지충 암갈색찰흙층, 저J7지충 명적갈색찰흙층, 저] 8지충 황갈색찰흙층에서 출토되었다.
이 중 퇴적층의 두께가 60∼70cm‘ 해발 25도 안팎에 해당되는 제7지층 영적갈색찰흙층에서는 유물이 집중되는 양상이 나타나 인류의 행위가 있었던 문회층으로 확인되었다. 출토된 유물은 대형의 몸돌(core)과 대형의 격지(flake) 를 비롯하여 찍개(chopper, chopping tool), 여러면석기(polyhedral) , 주먹 찌르개(pick), 주먹대패(plane), 긁개(scraper, core-scraper), 밀개(end scrape”, 붙는 석기 등으로 몸톨(core), 부스러기(debris) 등이 다수를 차지하고 있으며, 격지를 잔손질하여 만든 소형의 석기는 10여점 이내로 적은 편이다.
고양 탄현동 구석기유적의 성격은 구릉지 상부에 발달한 고토양층과 기반암 상부에 발달한 하성퇴적총으로 구성되는 유적으로서 석기는 주로 상부고토양층과 하성퇴적충 사이에 추운시기의 상부고토양층에 집중 분포하는것으로 분석되고, 단기간의 유로작용에 의해 변질된 석영맥암들이 석기 돌감인 것으로 파악된다. 출토된 다량의 몸돌이 비규칙적이고 부정형이며, 여기에 격지떼기가 정형화되어 있는 몸돌이 l ∼2접으로 소수인 점과 전기(lower) 구석기 전통의 주먹찌르개(pick), 찍개(chopper, chopping tool) 퉁이 포함되는석기구성, 완성된 석기가 소수이고, 몸돌이나 석기 부스러기가 많은 점은 이유적이 본격적인 격지제작 사용단계에 틀어가기 전 단계로서 중기(M iddle) 구석기 말에 해당되는 단계를 보여준다고 할 수 있다.
광여기 루미네선스(Opticall y Stirn 비ated Lumine - scence) 연대측정결과에서도 문화층인 제7지층에서 채취한 연대값이 B.P. 57 ,000土4,000으로 주어져 앞에서 언급한 중기 구석기시대 말기와 부합되는 것으로 해석되는 바이며, 제7 지충 하부에 위치한 제 II 지충 황색사질층은 B.P. 61 ,000±4,000의 연대측정치가 주어져 제 1 1 충 황색사질층과 제7지층 명적갈색찰흙층 사이에 시간적 차이는 거의 있지 않은 상황이다.
1991 년에는 일산신도시 개발지역 학술조사 외에 고양지역에서는 구석기(Pale이ith)와 관련된 조사가 이루어진 바가 없는 상태이다. 따라서 이번의 조사는 지질분석이나 OSL 연대측정치, 총위 및 석기양상비교 등 여러 분석을통하여 앞으로 고양지역에서 발견되는 구석기유적의 연구를 위한 기초자료가 확보되는 계기가 될 것으로 생각된다 .

영어초록

The Goyang Tanhyeon-dong Paleolithic Site distributed in the area of 1-129, 111-13, Tanhyun-dong, Insanseo-gu, Goyang City, Gyeonggi-do is a relief excavation investigation of Paleolithic Site within Goyang Tanhyun Co-op New Construction Area and it was executed for total 32 days including Sample Prospecting Investigat.ion(Oct. 18, 2007∼Oct. 26, 2007) for 7 days, Sample Verification Investigation(Nov. 4, 2007 ∼ Nov. I I, 2007) for 7 days, Excavation lnvestigation(Dec. 5, 2007∼ Dec. 26, 2007)for 18 days.
As a result of this excavation investigation, total 307 pieces including big size of core and flake, chopper, chopping tool, polyhedral, pick, plane, scraper, core-scraper, end scraper, debris, anvil were excavated from the 2nd stratum brown clay layer, the 3rd stratum reddish brown clay layer, the 4th stratum liber brown clay layer, the 5th stratum dark brown clay layer, the 7th stratum clear reddish brown clay layer, the 8th stratum yellow brown clay layer among the layers classified into 15 layers.
Among them, as there was an aspect that tbe relics were gathered in the 7th stratum clear reddish brown clay layer with the sedimentary layer depth of 60∼70cm and 25 。C above the sea, it was verified as the cultural layer that there were actions of mankind. The relics excavated from the 7th stratum clear reddish brown clay layer verified as cultural layer was occupied by a majority of chopper, chopping tool, polyhedral, pick, plane, scraper, core-scraper, end scraper, core, debris including a big size of core and flake, and it was rare to find the completed stonewares. The small size of stoneware made by trimming up flake was a small number as within around 10 pieces.
Stone material was a kind of quarts dike rock that mostly roughness is extremely poor. In the sense that most of stone materials were quarts dike rocks, it seems that there was no room of choice. Also, it is possible to say that what many volume of cores excavated were irregular and unfixed, and they included the cores that extremely l ∼2 pieces of flakes were fixed, and they included the stoneware composition including pick, chopper and chopping tool that were lower Paleolithic tradition, and the completed stoneware was small number and there were many broken pieces or fragments means that this historical site is showing the step of the end period of Middle Paleolithic as the earlier step of entering into the m떼or step making and using flake.
Also, in the result of Optically Stimulated Lumine - Scence dating estimation, as the dating value estimated in the 7th stratum clear reddish brown clay layer as a cultural layer was shown into B.P. 57 ,000土4,000 , it is translated that it is coincident with the end period of Middle Pale이ithic mentioned in the above, and as the 11th stratum yellow sandy layer located in the lower part of the 7th stratum gave tbe dating estimation value of B.P. 61 ,000土4, 000 , it is in the situation that it almost doesn’t make any time difference between the 11th stratum yellow sandy layer and the 7th stratum clear reddish brown clay layer.
There almost hasn't been any investigation regarding Paleolitb site in Goyang area except for academical investigation of llsan New City in 1991. Therefore, it is thought that this investigation can be a chance for acquiring the basic materials for researching the Paleolith site to be found in the Goyang area in the future through various analyses including geological feature analysis or OSL dating estimation value, soil layer and stoneware aspect comparison, etc ..
