동아시아 근대성 담론에 대한 비판적 검토 (A Critical Survey on Discourse for East-Asian Modernity)

초록

대부분의 동아시아 국가들은 서구의 충격 속에서 근대를 경험하였다.
그 결과 오늘날 의식, 관습, 제도 등 모든 면에 전근대와 근대와 현대와 후현대가 뒤섞여 있는 양상으로 나타나 있다. 이 같은 상황에 대한 반성으로근대 및 근대성, 그리고 근대가 만들어 낸 부정적인 문제들의 해결을 위해탈근대 논의가 활발하게 벌어지기 시작한 것은 20세기 말이었다. 본 연구는근대성을 주제로 한 동아시아 담론의 주류가 어떠한 모습을 보이고 있는지살피고, 기존 연구가 갖는 방법론상의 문제를 비판적으로 검토한 뒤 연구방법론 전환을 위한 제언을 하고 있다.
서구에서는 신학이 지배하던 중세를 벗어나 이성과 과학이 지배하는 근대를 열었다. 하지만 20세기 후반에 들어오면서 근대에 대한 비판이 일기시작하였다. 근대성은 한 때 새로운 문명 건설의 원동력이었지만 오늘날은새로운 시대의 출현을 가로막는 질곡으로 지적되고 있다. 이제는 더 이상 유럽 중심의 사유구조를 가지고 동아시아의 근대성이나 탈근대성을 논의할 수는 없다.

영어초록

Most East-Asian country experienced western culture shock in modern period. Therefore at the present day pre-modern and modern and post-modern are jumbled together in every field of most East-Asian country that include consciousness, custom, system etc. As the introspection on this situation discourse of post-modern for solving negative modern problem animated began in the end of 20th century. The main purpose of this paper is a study on main stream of East-Asian discourse for modernity and a critical survey on problem of methodology in the earlier studies.
Afterwards this paper suggest new methodology for study on East-Asian modernity In medieval times theology dominated the Europe. But in modern times the reason and the science came to dominate the Europe. However coming in the late 20th century critics for modernity began. One-time modernity was a driving force to build a new civilization, but today modernity is the fetter that block appearance of a new era. Now no longer we can not discuss modernity and post-modernity by the Eurocentric thinking.
To tell the truth our modernity different with European modernity. Because we have a traditional confucian culture.
We made our modernity in the effect of Western modernity,but it contained our own development path and the logic inside.
Despite the impact of Eurocentric modernity our Confucian culture to the issues raised in the face when it resolved to seek to provide motivation always aware of issues prepared for the terms gave the background of daily life conditions of the act stipulates the form of institutions and practices Produces in practice was in the right direction.
However, previous studies for the type or structure of the traditional Confucian set up to take the main target is seldom discussed. Thus, modernity as a type of software as an content focused on the hardware as the form requires a change in perspective. Operating in East Asia has been recognized as a feudal remnant ‘form’ as an aspect of the problem of modernity is a need to review. The ‘type’value-neutral character of the peculiarity of considering,formalization of the process of social communication in the modern individual as a rational order could be understood as a modern concept. Such type of system were system of manner in a traditional society. System of manners,constitutes an objective reason for the tradition that would have fit in the rational liberal thinking. Therefore, as a hardware system of manners from the perspective of modernity, is the conclusion that research needs to be seen
