초록

In the late of Chosun Dynasty the importance of Dongrae-Bu (the administrative districts) as boundary gate of the country was being emphasized in the defense․trade․diplomacy when the diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan were normalized after the Japanese invasion of 1592~98. For that reason Dongrae-Bu was a representative city for military base.
First, Dongrae-Bu became the camp of each country in 1655 and defended independent as the center. Dongrae-Bu temporarily became the door for defending against an enemy attack in 1690, then carried out a military action with the Yangsan and the Gijang. Dongrae-Bu became the door for defend a castle in 1739 and became the boundary gate for defend a castle in 1749. Therefore, Dongrae-Bu trained, shared food and awarded a prize to soldier independently.
Next, Dongrae-Bu in the late of Chosun Dynasty was a special area of the national defense which maintained the government position-system(stay at mountain fortress and defend a castle commanding soldier), not belonging in the 6 best camp which was established in Gyeongsang-do. The military organization of Dongrae-Bu in the late of Chosun Dynasty was composed of 3 classes, the military staying at mountain fortress and defending a castle, intermediate military and common military. Especially Dongrae-Bu there was the military and then had the working space.
Finally, the miltary training in Dongrae-Bu often was not implemented. The reasons was that the exam selecting a low ranking warrior was discontinued or was put off as the famine, in case that the officer of Dongrae refused an order. In Dongrae-Bu in the late of Chosun Dynasty was organized a low ranking officer, ByullGhiWui, ByullMuSa and SeongJakDae this can be kinds of the army which considered the relationship with Japan.
