초록

This study classifies fashion style types and identifies characteristics of each types for the third - generation male idol stars who have appeared since 2012. We also identify male adolescents' preference and imitation behavior in relation to these fashion style types. We conducted a survey on male adolescents aged between 13 and 24 years old who live in Seoul and Busan area. The conclusions summarized are as follows. First, the fashion styles of the third generation male idol stars appeared in five types: Classic, Gorgeous, Dandy, Natural, and KitschㆍRetro. Second, male adolescents' preference for fashion styles of the third generation male idol stars was in order of Dandy, Natural, KitschㆍRetro, Classic, and Gorgeous, with differences in preference originating from age, region, fashion interest. Third, the imitation behaviors of male adolescents' in the fashion styles of the third generation male idol stars were higher in the order of Dandy, Classic, Natural, KitschㆍRetro, and Gorgeous, and the imitation behavior score was higher than the preference. Fashion imitation behaviors were in order of Natural, Dandy, Classic, KitschㆍRetro, and Gorgeous, and the imitation behavior of accessories was Dandy, Classic, Natural, KitschㆍRetro, and Gorgeous. The makeup imitation behaviors were in order of Dandy, Classic, Natural, KitschㆍRetro, and Gorgeous, and hair imitation behaviors were in order of Classic, Dandy, Natural, Gorgeous and KitschㆍRetro. Also, according to the age and fashion interest of adolescents, there was a difference in imitation behavior by fashion style type.
