초록

본 연구는 채색을 위주로 하는 표현법 토대위에서 산수 제재가 어떠한 점에 기초하여 채색 분화 를 전개하는지에 초점을 두고 연구를 진행한 것이다.
산수 표현을 본격화한 북조시대의 경우 ‘山林’을 의미하는 산봉과 수목 중심의 산수 표현을 주로 반영했다. 다양한 색으로 산봉을 표현했으며 사실성 강조에 관심을 두지 않았다. 크기와 배치에서도 자유분방함을 우선으로 했다. 색채 위주의 표현법을 지향했으며, 平塗法을 우선으로 하면서 暈染法 을 병행했다.
중원지역 회화 표현법을 보다 적극 반영한 당대의 경우 북조시대와 달리 사실성이 강조된 중첩식 산수를 주로 반영했다. 그리고 성당 이전에 이미 도상 전체에 산수를 반영한 全景式 산수를 형성했 다. 사실성을 지속 확대했으며, 독립 산수화와 같은 정경의 표현 경계도 마련했다. 하지만 북조시대 와 마찬가지로 장식적 역할에서 크게 벗어나지 않았다.
채색의 경우 북조시대와 마찬가지로 채색 위주의 표현법을 주로 반영했다. 그리고 그러한 표현법 개념 하에서 도상 일부에 한정된 수묵 표현의 특징을 내보였다. 도상 일부에 수묵 표현이 반영될 경우 중앙의 핵심 제재에서 멀어질수록 수묵의 정도를 심화했다. 이 경우 중앙의 핵심 제재에 포함 된 산수를 가장 화려하게 했고, 핵심 제재를 둘러싼 경계지역의 산수 역시 비교적 적극적으로 채색 을 반영했다. 수묵의 반영은 주로 핵심 이미지 경계 밖에서 이루어졌다.
하나의 도상 내에서 위치 혹은 거리에 따라 채색을 달리 반영한 데는 도상 내에서 각 제재가 차지 하는 상대적 위상 혹은 중요도가 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 것은 산수뿐만 아니라 인물 등 다른 제재에 대해서도 동일하게 반영했다. 도상 내에서 산수 제재가 상대적으로 낮게 인식된 데는 배경 혹은 공간 분할과 같은 단순 역할에서 크게 벗어나지 못한 상황 등이 주목되었다.
도상 내에서의 위상 및 역할에 따른 채색의 차등 반영은 수묵 출현의 인식 기초를 새롭게 했다. ‘蕭疏淡泊’과 같은 특정한 시대정신에 기초했을 것으로 본 기존 관점을 새롭게 전환하는 데도 간과 할 수 없는 내용을 제공했다.

영어초록

This study has researched the process of the development of color differentiation based on what points of landscape painting on the basis of an expression method centered on color.
In the case of the Northern Dynasty in China, when landscape painting appeared in earnest, it mainly reflected the expression of a mountain peaks meaning ‘forest’ and the landscapes centered on trees. The mountain peaks were expressed in various colors, without interesting in emphasizing the realism. For the size and arrangement, freedom was given priority. It aimed for a color-oriented expression method, giving priority to the evenly spreading and painting method, while applying the technique to darken the recessed areas by brushing several times to reveal the curves, and to lighten the bulging areas with less brushing in parallel.
In the case of the Tang Dynasty, which more actively reflected the painting expression method of the Central Districts, it mainly reflected the overlapping style (the layer upon layer described way) landscape painting emphasized realism, unlike the Northern Dynasty. Around the 8th century, the asian landscape paintings were already reflected on the whole picture. The realism was continuously expanded, and a wonderful landscape was also expressed, such as an independent landscape painting.
However, it did not depart too much from the role of decorating the background, just like in the Northern Dynasty. As the Northern Dynasty, the coloring mainly reflected the method of expression centered on color. Under the concept of such an expression method, India ink expression was reflected by limiting it on a part of the painting.
If the India ink expression was limited on a part of the painting, the degree of India ink expression was intensified the further away from the center of the painting. In this case, the landscape inside the center of the painting was decorated most splendidly, and the landscape painting in the border area surrounding the center of the painting was also relatively actively reflected in color. The India ink expressions was mainly reflected outside the boundaries.
For reflecting the color differently depending on the location or distance within the painting, it was found that the relative status or importance occupied by each element within the painting had an important influence. This was reflected in the same way not only for landscape but also for other elements such as characters. As a factor in which landscape painting was perceived as relatively low, it was found that it could not depart significantly from simple roles such as background decoration or space division.
The differential reflection of colors according to their status and roles within the painting has renewed the recognition basis of the emergence of India ink painting. It provided a significant information even for a new transformation of the existing viewpoint, supposed to be based on a certain spirit of the times, such as simpleness.
