초록

유수대는 출구와 대구가 상호 필연적 관계로 의존하고 있어서 둘 가운데 어느 하나를 함부로 생략할 수 없고 또한 그 순서가 특수한 논리적 관계에 따라 일정하게 고정되어 있어서 전후의 위치를 함부로 도치시킬 수 없는 대우를 말한다. 이러한 대우는 인공의 의미를 이미 벗어난 천연의 산물이라고 할 수 있으니, 이것은 모든 대우의 예술적 이상이다.
출구와 대구에 작용하는 상호 의존의 필연성은 모든 유수대의 본질적 원리다. 평행대와 마찬가지로 유수대도 배열의 균제를 보이기는 하지만, 유수대의 핵심적 기제는 의미의 연관이다. 흐르는 물처럼 유동하는 기세가 여기서 나온다. 유수대는 평행대를 잇달아 사용하는 데서 생기는 부자연성과 정체성의 폐단을 소거하는 예술적 장치다. 유수대의 창조적 활용을 계기로 근체시 양식의 예술적 성숙이 이루어질 수 있었다.
유수대와 평행대는 상보적 기능을 맡는다. 유수대는 대치하지 않고 유동하는 까닭에 합장이 아예 불가능하고 또한 공대를 이루기 어렵다. 유수대의 이러한 예술적 성격을 모르면 율시의 본질을 미처 다 파악하지 못한 셈이다. 본고에서 고찰한 단구형 유수대 3종류와 복구형 유수대 7종류는 최소한의 것이다. 향후에 더욱 자세한 연구가 계속되어야 하겠다.

영어초록

Flowing antithetical couplet refers to the couplet that since the sentence of couplet leading and following are mutually dependent on each other inevitably, either one cannot be omitted and also since the order is fixed according to a special logical relationship, the position before and after cannot be inverted arbitrarily. This kind of couplet is a product of nature that has already departed from the artificial meaning, and therefore this is the artistic ideal of all couplet.
The inevitability of interdependence acting on the sentence of couplet leading and following is an essential principle of all flowing antithetical couplet. As like parallel antithetical couplet, flowing antithetical couplet shows uniformity in arrangement, but the core mechanism of the flowing antithetical couplet is the association of meanings. The momentum that flows like flowing water comes from here. Flowing antithetical couplet is an artistic device that eliminates the negative effects of stagnancy and unnaturalness caused by the successive use of parallel antithetical couplet. With the creative utilization of flowing antithetical couplet, the artistic maturity of modern style poetry from the Tang Dynasty could be achieved.
Flowing antithetical couplet and parallel antithetical couplet have complementary functions. Since flowing antithetical couplet moves without confrontation, it is impossible to form complete synonymous of the sentence of couplet leading and following at all, and it is also difficult to achieve accurate antithesis. If we do not know these artistic characteristics of flowing antithetical couplet, it means that we have not fully grasped the essence of eight line poems. Three types of one‒way flowing antithetical couplet and seven types of two‒way flowing antithetical couplet considered in this paper are the minimum instances. A more detailed study should be continued in the future.
