조선족 소설과 문화대혁명의 기억 (Korean-Chinese Novels and the Memory of the Cultural Revolution)

초록

조선족 사회의 문화대혁명은 중국 전역에서 전개된 문혁과 비슷한 양상을 보이면서 동시에 몇 가지 특수성을 지닌다. 그것은 중국공산당의 이념과 소수민족의 현실 사이의 괴리에 따른 박해, 문혁 당시 한국과 북한 사이의 갈등에서 비롯된 한족과의 갈등 등이 그것이다. 문혁 이후 상당수의조선족 소설이 다양한 각도에서 문혁을 다루고 있다. 본고에서는 문혁을제재로 한 조선족 소설을 비정상적인 문혁 과정 속에서 겪은 고난을 다룬작품, 상호 비판하고 모함하는 문혁 상황에 부화뇌동한 일을 반성한 작품,사회주의를 지향하던 문혁 시기의 국가 정책의 오류를 비판한 작품, 연변문혁의 특수성을 고발한 작품, 과거가 되어 버린 문혁 기간을 그리워하거나 문혁을 주제를 강화하기 위한 소재로만 다룬 작품 등 다섯 유형으로 나누어 그 양상과 의미를 규명해 보았다.
문혁은 중국인들에게 크나큰 정신적 외상을 갖게 한 사건이지만 이를직접적인 제재로 다루고 있는 조선족 소설은 많지 않다. 그 이유는 몇 가지로 추정해 볼 수 있다. 먼저 문혁이 남긴 상처가 너무나 엄청났기에 아직은 그것을 소설의 주된 제재로 다루기에는 시간적 거리가 너무 짧다는점이다. 더욱이 문혁은 가해자와 피해자가 명확하지 않는다는 점에서 서사적 사건으로 다루기에 어려움이 내재한다는 점도 중요한 요인이다. 문혁이후의 개혁개방은 사회적으로나 경제적으로나 급격한 변화를 잉태하였고,한중수교라는 조선족에게는 엄청난 역사적 사건과 맞물려 문혁의 의미를구명하는 일은 후순위로 밀린 점도 중요한 이유가 된다.

영어초록

The Cultural Revolution (CR) in the Korean Chinese society hadsome particularities while showing similar aspects to those of theCRunfolding over entire China. They included prosecution due to thegap between the Chinese Communist Party’s ideology and the realityof the minor ethnicity, and the conflicts with the Han Chinese due tothe conflict between South and North Korea at the time of the CulturalRevolution. After the CR, a considerable number of Korean-Chinesenovels have addressed it from various angles. This paper tries toclarify the aspects and meanings of some Korean-Chinese novels thathave the CR as their subject matters by classifying them into fivetypes including those addressing the hardship undergone in the courseof the abnormal Cultural Revolution, those repenting the assentationto the CR situations of mutual criticisms and rebukes, those criticizingthe fallacies in the national policies in the period of the CulturalRevolution oriented toward socialism, those accusing theparticularities of the CR in Yenbien, and those missing the period ofthe Cultural Revolution in the past or dealing only with subjectmatters that just strengthen the theme of the CR.
Though the CR was an event that made the Chinese have a very great trauma, there have not been many Korean-Chinese novels thatdeal directly with it. We can conjecture some of the reasons. First ofall, the time interval is still too short for novels to address the CR astheir main subject matter since it left too tremendous hurts.
Furthermore, it is also an important factor that it is difficult to dealwith the CR as a narrative event since the perpetrators and the victimsare not clearly distinguished. It is also a crucial reason that the reformand opening-up after the CR gave rise to radical social and economicchanges, and the establishment of the significance of the CR was putaside due to the overwhelming historical event for theKorean-Chinese, the establishment of the diplomatic ties betweenKorea and China.
