초록

History of Korean politics in 1960s is characterized by meeting and parting of the opposition party. These factionalisms originated from the Democratic Party that appeared as a mainstream of conservative political party in 1955. Even during the periods of 1963 the 5th presidential election and 1967 the 6th presidential election, these factionalisms were clearly exposed andt here fore sustained the pattern of division, conflict, absorption and integration of the opposition party. Both elections are also characterized by matchups between Park Chung-hee and Yun Bo-seon each representing for the ruling and opposition parties. During the period of 1963 presidential election, Yun Bo-seon purposely caused ideological disputes, because he was based on a legitimistic way of thinking that he himself is real on two values: anti-Communism and democracy. However the ideological disputes didn’t quite exhibit a powerful effect. Relatively, 1967 presidential election vied with policies. Park Chung-hee’s value of richness-oriented economic success and Yun Bo-seon’s value of justice-oriented democracy collided. Democratic awareness of 1960s opposition parties represented by Yun Bo-seon was ideal and based on a justified value. However, the results were never positive on the two presidential elections and rather the gap between the percentages of those supporting each candidate has even increased.
