이만부의 易統 과 易大象便覽 의 역학적 특징과 문화다원론적 지향 (The Characteristics of His Interpretation of the I Ching and Cultural Pluralistic Orientation of Lee Manbu李萬敷 Yitong易統 and Yidaxiang bianlan易大象便覽)

초록

이 글은 이만부가 지은 역학 관련 저술 가운데 역통(易統) 과 역대상편람(易大象便覽) 에 나타난 역학(易學)적 특징과 그 문화다원론적 함의를 해명하고자 하였다. 이만부는 성 리학적관점에서 주역 을이해하고있는만큼상수와의리를종합하는시각에서그는의 리역학적 목표를 상수학적 방법을 통하여 실현하고자 하였다. 이만부의 「역통」은 서문과함께 원역(原易), 상역(象易), 획역(劃易), 연역(演易), 사역(辭易, 상하), 익역(翼易)으로 구분하여 유형에 따라 분류하고 체계화하여 역의 보편적 원리와 함께 다양하고 특수한 현상의 변화를 포괄하고자 하였다. 이만부의 역통 은 「원역」부터 「획역」 까지는 일원적 원리[太極]에서 괘효의 상(象)으로 연역되어 나아감으로써 상수역의 관점 이 두드러진다면, 「연역」에서 「익역」까지는 물상과 괘획의 상(象)에서 인사(人事)의 도덕 적 실천과 정치적 질서로 나아감으로써 의리역의 관점이 중심이 된다. 구체적으로 식산은 역사적 과정을 거쳐 형성된 역의 상호 연관된 단계적 의미를 일곱 가지로 설명하였다. 이 것들은 크게 세 가지 범주로 구분할 수 있다. 첫째는 원역과 상역으로 획전역의 단계가 있 다. 둘째는 획역 연역 사역으로 천도의 상수에서 인도의 의리적 역학으로 나아가는 단계가 있다. 셋째는 용역과 익역으로 특수하고 다양한 현상에 대하여 통변하는 원리를 점서로 결 단하는 용역의 단계와 여러 철학적 원리로 역의 변화를 설명하는 익역의 단계가 있다. 이 러한 식산의 관점은 주역 을 발생론적 측면을 이해하는 것이면서 구조적 의미론적 체계 를 동시에 이해하고자 하는 특성을 갖는다. 또한 일원적 통일적인 일자로부터 다원적인 활 용과 현실적 적용에까지 나아가는 이론적 연역은 다원론적 함의를 갖는다. 결론적으로, 식산은 역통 의 도설을 통하여 상수역학적 견해를 제시하면서도 의리역학적 요소를 함축하 였고, 역대상편람 을 통해서는 군주의 통치를 위한 수양과 경세의 방법론을 제시함으로 써 문화다원론적 지향을 보여주었다고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This article tried to explain the characteristics of interpretation of the I Ching and its cultural pluralistic implications in Yitong(易統) and Yidaxiang bianlan易大象便覽 among the Yi xue-related writings written by Lee Manbu. For Lee Manbu understood the Book of Changes in the Neo-confucian perspective, he intended to perform moral principle goal of the I-Ching through symbol-numeralogical methodology in view of synthesize of symbol-number and moral principle. Lee Manbu’s Yi tong classified and systematized a system of the I-Ching into Yuanyi(原易), Xiangyi(象易), Huayi(劃易), Yanyi(演 易), Ciyi(辭易), Yongyi(用易) and Yiyi(翼易) according to type with preface. It was intended to encompass the change of various and special phenomena along with the universal principle of the I-Ching.
For a symbol of trigram and lines卦爻 is deduced by the Great Ultimate as holistic principles, while the viewpoint of symbol-number Yixue stands out from Yuanyi(原易) to Hua yi(劃易) in the Lee Manbu’s Yi tong, moral principle Yixue be the focus of attention for moral practice and political order are derived from simbol of things and trigram and line卦劃 in the system from Yan yi(演易) to Yi yi(翼易). Concretely Lee Manbu accounted for interrelated stepwise meanings developed through historical process in seven ways.
These can be broadly divided into three categories. The first is stage of Yi (易) before line(劃前易) composed of Yuanyi(原易) and Xiangyi(象易). The second is stage of Huayi(劃易), Yanyi(演易) and Ciyi(辭易) advancing from symbol-number Yi of heaven way to moral principle Yi of human duty. The third is stage of Yong yi(用易) deciding incessantly transforming principle through divination to the unique and various phenomena and Yiyi(翼易) explaining change and progress of Yi through several philosophical principle. Lee Manbu’s viewpoint has characteristic tried to understand a generative aspect of the Book of Changes and its structural and semantical system at the same time. Also his theoretical deduction moving from the ultimate One to various and practical application has pluralistic implications. Summing up, while suggested opinion of symbol-number YiXue on the one hand and expressed that of moral principle YiXue on the other hand through explanatory diagrams of Yitong(易統), Lee Manbu displayed cultural pluralistic orientations by presenting the monarch discipline for governance and methodology ruling the world through Yidaxiangbianlan易大象便覽.
