    초록

    The purpose of this study was to find out the physical activity of middle school multicultural women, their recognition of physical education classes, and their participation in physical education classes, and to find out the differences between non-multicultural women. In order to achieve this research purpose, a survey was conducted on 65 multicultural women and 65 non-multicultural women enrolled in A city, I city, G city, and D city. The collected data were cross-tabulation analysis (Chi-square), t-test, and one-way ANOVA using SPSS 26.0 according to the purpose of the study, and the effect size (ES) was verified. The results of the study accordingly are as follows. First, the differences between multicultural and non-multicultural girls in physical education class preference, athletic ability level, and BMI were significantly different only in physical education preference. In the case of non-cultural students, the proportion of ‘non-preferred’ students in physical education classes was 8.1%, whereas in the case of multicultural students, it was identified as 25.8% (x2=13.310, p=.001).
    Second, looking at the perception of physical education classes of multicultural women, significant differences were found in all detailed factors according to physical education class preference (F=34.141, p=000) and exercise ability level (F=9.365, p=.001). Third, looking at the participation of multicultural women in physical education classes, there was no significant difference in participation level and motivation for participation in physical education classes according to Korean level. On the other hand, the higher the preference for physical education class (F=36.057 p=000) and the level of exercise ability (F=8.470, p=.001), the higher the level of participation and motivation for participation in physical education classes.
    Finally, when looking at the amount of physical activity of multicultural female students, significant differences were identified according to physical education class preference (F=5.980, p=.004), exercise ability level (F=4.566, p=.014), and BMI (F=4.404, p=.016). This suggests that in order to increase the amount of physical activity resulting from awareness and participation in physical education classes, it is necessary to prioritize raising the preference for physical education classes and the level of self-awareness of exercise ability, and that weight loss is important. In addition, unlike previous studies that physical education subjects are preferred to multicultural students because they have relatively less linguistic difficulties than other subjects, this study showed that the participation level of multicultural women was lower than that of non-cultural women. This result suggests that linguistic difficulties affect physical education classes of multicultural women when it is comprehensively grasped that the higher the Korean level of multicultural women in physical education class awareness, the higher their physical effects and class interest.
