다문화 결혼이주여성의 한국생활문화 경험 연구 (The study of foreign married immigrated women in the Korean society)

초록

본 연구는 결혼이주여성들의 한국에서의 생활문화경험 사례연구를 통하여 다양한 생활경험들의 현상을 분석하여 한국문화적응 과정의 의미를 밝히고 결혼이주여성의 가족들이 건강하게 한국사회에 적응하는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 한국문화적응의 이주 전 단계는 자신이 살아온 모국과 가족을 등지고 한국에서의 새로운 삶으로의 기대와 희망이며, 그 새로운 삶을 통하여 본인이 바라고 원하는 것들을 성취하기 위함이다. 이주초기 적응은 자유롭게 의사소통을 못하고 집안에서 고립된 생활로 인하여 아주 외롭고, 답답하며, 무력감을 느끼는 적응과정의 가장 어려운 시기를 겪게 된다. 밖으로는 편견과 차별감 그리고 남들의 놀림을 당하며 마음의 고통과 슬픔을 느껴야 했고 한국사회의 일원으로 정체성을 갖지 못하고 갈등을 겪으면서 더욱 더 떠나온 조국과 가족들을 그리워함을 의미했다. 한국문화적응의 중간 단계는 초기의 수동적인 입장에서 벗어나 의사소통이 가능한 상태로 사회활동과 여가활동을 능동적으로 주도하고 적응의 어려움을 대처해 나아가며 한편으로는 남편의 폭력과 폭언을 견뎌야 했고, 주위의 차별과 편견을 이해하고 수용해야만 했다. 이는 실패해서 고국에 돌아갈 수 없다는 절박감과 자녀가 좋은 환경에서 잘 성장해가는 모습을 바라보면서 당하는 고통과 어려움을 참고 견디며 위기를 극복해 나아가는 것을 의미했다. 한국문화통합의 단계는 이중언어(二重言語)를 자유롭게 구사할 수 있고 한국사회의 일원으로 당당하게 정체성이 확립되었음을 의미했다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 결혼이주여성을 위한 효(孝) 문화와 인성교육을 통한 사회복지실천과 정책에 관한 함의를 제언하였다.

영어초록

This research study analyzed various situations inside daily life experiences through the case studies done with foreign married immigrated women, revealed the meaning of acculturation process, and this research presents a solution of how the families of foreign immigrant women healthily adjust in the Korean society. At the stage before the women immigrate inside the acculturation process, these women turn against their family and motherland where they have lived; however, they anticipate and hope for a new life at Korea, and wish to fulfill the things they have ardently wished for through their new lives. The early adjustment period is the most struggling time of the acculturation process, and the immigrants are not able to freely communicate and they feel lonely, stuffy, lethargic due to the solitary life at home. Outwardly, the immigrants teased and discriminated with prejudice, and their hearts are hurt and they feel sadness. These hardship mean that the immigrants are missing their family and homeland which they have left much more, and that they are conflicting since they do not have identity of being an individual inside the Korean society. At the middle level of the acculturation process, the immigrants are deviated from their initial passive position and they are at the stage where they are able to communicate, actively take lead inside the social and leisure activities, and handle the difficulties of adaption. On the other hand, the immigrant women endured the violence and abusive language, and they understood and accepted the discrimination and prejudice from their surroundings. This means that they have endured their pain and hardship, and have gotten through by watching their children growing well inside a fine environment with a desperate mind that they can not go back to their native country. At the stage of cultural integration, the immigrants are able to freely command dual languages, and this means that their identity of being an individual in Korea has been established. Therefore, implications about social welfare practices and policies for married immigrated women can be put forward through this research study.
