고타마 붓다 설법플랫폼의 구조화 시론 (A Study on Buddha’s Sermon Platform Structure)

초록

본 논문은 고타마 붓다의 설법이 통섭적 사고와 학문간 융합에 기반하여 살아있는 시스템으로 거듭나게 되는 청사진을 제시하고자 하였다.
이것을 위해 붓다의 설법이라는‘사건’을 아리스토텔레스 관점에서얻을 수 있는 x, y, z와 t라는 네 실수를 가지고 표현할 것이며, 놓치지말아야할 것은 시간과 공간으로 이루어진 구조의 설계 가능성이다.
이러한 구조에 적합한 것이 바로‘플랫폼’이라는 개념이다, 이것은‘붓다의 설법’이라는‘사건’을 앞서의 네 실수를 동원한 하나의 살아있는 틀로 만드는데 매우 적합하다는 말이다.
플랫폼은 한마디로 다양한 용도에 공통적으로 사용할 목적으로 설계된 유무형의 구조물로서‘핵심 가치를 담을 틀을 제공하고, 내부와 외부, 외부와 외부 간에 상호 연결을 가능케 해주는 그 무엇’이다.
붓다의 설법을 플랫폼적으로 생각하며 정의한다면‘가치복합체의법문들이 구성요소가 되어 상호를 매개로 연결되어 있으며, 자생력과구동력을 지녀 시대를 관류하며 교화하는 생태적 기반요소’라고 정의할 수 있겠다.
이러한 붓다설법의 플랫폼화를 위해먼저, 심층구조와 표면구조로 이루어진 기본 원리를 살펴보고둘째, 설법플랫폼의 평면구조에 대해서 알아보며끝으로, 설법시스템 플랫폼의 운영주체에 대해서 제시하였다.
심층구조와 표면구조에서는 설법 플랫폼의 바탕이 되는 사성제, 삼법인, 12연기, 중도의 논리와 같은 근본원리를 먼저 살펴보고, ‘대칭과평형’및‘연기(緣起)’를 붓다의 설법이 지닌 특징과 핵심원리로 적용해 보았다.
설법플랫폼의 평면구조에서는 메시지의 종류에 따른 언어적 설법과비언어적 설법의 2차원 평면과, 설법자가 청법자를 낮은 단계에서 높은단계로 인도하는 설법의 질적 심화과정인 세 번째 축, 동시에 현재를 중심으로 과거와 미래라는 시간적 대칭 개념을 네 번째 축으로 삼아 설법플랫폼을 4차원으로 입체화 하는 과정에 대해서 살펴보았다.
마지막 운영주체에서는 그 시스템을 한편으로 구성하며, 운영해 나아가는 설법주체에 대한 내용을 살펴봄으로써 시스템의 일관적 준거를 제시하고자 하였다.
이와 같은 설법 플랫폼은 패러다임의 전환의 도구로써 기획되었고붓다의 설법 정보’에서‘대칭’을 가지는 요소를 추리고‘질서’를 부여해 평형을 갖추어 무형의 공간에 4차원 플랫폼을 만들었다.
이 플랫폼 형식 안에는 각종 기법과 개념들이 그 내용을 채우고 있다. 플랫폼은 소유권을 주장하지 않아 배타적이지 않고 누구나 그 주인이 될 수 있다. 깨달음과 실행에 따라 얼마든지 조정 가능한 열린 체계다. 설법시스템의 가치는 여기에 있다. 제한된 자원에 대한 갈등이 아니라 무한한 정신적 유산을 공유함으로서 상생의 가치를 체화하고 삶에 적용할 수 있는 진지로서의 역할을 하는 것이다.
오늘을 살아가는 불제자로서‘붓다의 설법’이라는‘사건’에 생명을부여하고 자기복제가 가능하게끔 구조화 하여,‘ 세계의 끝’이 또 다른‘세계의 시작’으로 이어져서 붓다의 꿈이 영원하게 살아 숨 쉬게 하는시스템을 설계하려는 시도는 그 타당성이 과학과 기업이라는 장에서이미 증명되었으며, 따라서 붓다설법의 플랫폼화는 타당성과 시의적절성을 가진다 하겠다.

영어초록

This dissertation presents a blueprint of the process in which Buddhist teachings emerge as a living system based on converging thoughts and interdisciplinary fusion.
To support this, I will express Buddhist teaching as an‘ event’in terms of variables, x, y, z, and t of Aristotelian scale, and one key concept is the possibility of constructing a time-space dimension.
The structure that suits this design is the‘ platform’concept. The platform concept allows us to create an unified living frame for an‘ event’,‘ Buddhist teaching’, using the four variables mentioned previously.
To sum up, platform is both a tangible and intangible structure that provides common use for variety of applications. Furthermore, platform serves as a framework to contain the core value, and a catalyst that allows for internalexternal or external-external interaction.
The definition of Buddhist teaching in the context of platform is‘ composition of value complex Dharma that is linked with interaction parameter and serves as an ecological foundation that flows and reforms generations with its selfsustaining drive.’To replicate Buddhist teaching into a platform,First, I examined the basic principles within its multi-dimensionality,Secondly, I examined Buddhist teaching’s surface design,Lastly, I suggested Buddhist teaching platform’s operating principle.
While examining the surface design and multi-dimensionality of Buddhist teaching platform, I looked into the basic principles behind the principle of the four noble truths, three signs or proofs of a Hinayana sutra-nonperformance,non personality, nirvana, paticca-samuppada, and complete objectivity which serves as the backbone of Buddhist teaching platform. In addition, I assigned ‘symmetry parallel’and ‘pratiyasamutpada’as the distinct feature and core principle.
I used the two dimensional surface based on the lingual teachings and nonlingual teachings, the third axis where the preacher leads the student into a higher quality of Buddhist understanding, and the fourth axis that states the parallel universe of time with past and future centered around present, and analyzed the process in which to embed Buddhist teaching in a four dimensional space.
In the last operation principle, I examined the contents of the components and operations involved in the teaching to propose a system of consistent criteria.
Such teaching platform was designed as a tool for paradigm shift and by eliminating‘ overlapping’elements of‘ information’section within Buddhist teaching and granting order to create a parallel system, I was able to create a four dimensional platform within an intangible space.
This platform is composed of various techniques and concepts, and is made easy for anyone to adopt it as his or her own. The real value of the Buddhist teaching is that it is a flexible system that can be modified according to an individual’s understanding and dedication. Rather than causing frustration with limited resources and boundaries, the teaching enables one to apply the concept to one’s life through sharing limitless resources and exercising the values of coexistence.
As a student of Buddhism, the effort to breath life into Buddhist teaching by enabling it to replicate itself so that the Buddhist dream connects one end of an era to another and remains as an everlasting and living concept as been verified within the boundaries of science and business. Therefore, it is safe to conclude that translating Buddhist teaching into a platform is both feasible and appropriate.
