초록

従来、19章と21章は、時間を飛び越えて15歳となった無名が、献灯使として派遣される現実と解釈されてきた。しかし、注目すべきことがある。18章の最後のところで、無名は気を失うけれども、21章の終わり近くで意識が戻り、「とてもいい夢を見たんだ」と義郎と夜那谷に言おうとした。19章と21章は気絶した無名の見た夢と解釈するのが、物語論的な論理に合致するわけだ。ただ、欲望と不安の表象という一般的な夢の解釈では不十分である。なぜなら、無名の夢には夜那谷の出身など新しい情報が含まれており、18章までの出来事としての物語世界の情報を越えているという難点があるからだ。この夢の解釈に必要なコードは予言である。無名が献灯使として派遣されるというプロットは、予言として機能する夢によって完成する。また、予言であるからこそ、夢の中の新情報も、小説の論理を壊さず、物語世界で起こった出来事と同じく信憑性のある情報として、受け入れられる。無名の夢は、無意識の表象、願望充足を越えて、献灯使として派遣される無名の未来を予告する予言の装置なのである。未来を予告する夢という装置は、この作品の物語論的な特徴とも関わりをもつ。作品の全般にわたる物語論的な特徴として、時間においては、後説法による挿入を、叙法においては、パスペクティブの転換を指摘した。パスペクティブの転換によって人物相互の内面の真実が相対化され、構造化されることを浮彫りにした。挿入によっては、過去の情報が補われ、また、過去の義郎の価値観が現在の価値観によって批判されることを明らかにした。ところが、挿入によって過去だけが呼び出されているわけではない。無名の夢の挿入によって、未来の希望も呼び込まれているのだ。この作品の物語世界の時間は半日程度にすぎないが、後説法と先説法の挿入によって、時間が過去へと未来へと広がる。それによった、過去の過ちが是正され、未来の希望が予告される。現在のディストピアは時間の挿入によって克服への可能性を開く。

영어초록

In previous studies, Chapter 19 and Chapter 21 have been interpreted as the reality of 15-year-old Mumei who skipped through time. However, there is something to be noted. At the end of Chapter 18, Mumei's fainting incident is described, but at the end of Chapter 21, Mumei's consciousness returns as he looks at Yoshiro and Yonatani's worried faces and tries to say, 'I had a good dream'. Therefore, it fits the narrative logic to interpret Chapters 19 and 21 as the dreams of Mumei who fainted. However, the general interpretation of dreams as expressions of desire and anxiety is not sufficient. That's because Mumei's dream contains new information, such as Yonatani's father being a foreigner, which goes beyond the information of the story world up to Chapter 18. The code needed to interpret this dream is prophecy. Through a dream that works as a prophecy, the plot of the novel's Emissary dispatch is completed, and new information in the dream is accepted as reliable information, similar to a real event.
The device of a dream as a prophecy that summons the future is related to the narrative characteristics of this work. The insertions and the variable focalization are identified as characteristics of the narrative technique throughout the work. The insertions provide information about the past, which is the background of the story, and Yoshiro's past values are criticized by his present values. The effect of variable focalization is to reveal the inner truths of the characters' interactions with each other. The past is not the only thing inserted. Through a dream that works as a prophecy, future hopes are also summoned and inserted. Although the narrative in the work only lasts about half a day, the horizon of time is expanded through the narrative technique of inserting analepsis and prolepsis. Past errors are corrected, and hopes for the future are foreseen. The current dystopia opens up the possibility of being overcome through the insertion of time.
