교회론의 디지털 실존적 재구성을 위한 가능성 연구: 디지털 ‘하나님의 선교(Missio Dei)’를 향하여 (A Study on the Possibility for Digital-Existential Reconstruction of Ecclesiology: Toward Digital ‘Missio Dei’)

초록

코로나19 이전의 세계로 돌아갈 수 없다는 것이 사실로 확인되면서 ‘포스트 코로나 시대’를 준비하는 다양한 토론들이 전개되고 있다. 이 토론 들을 주도하는 진보적 지식인들은 현 사회체제에 대한 성찰과 비판을 수행 하는 반면, 과학기술 영역과 기업들은 팬데믹 이후 디지털 실존양식이 가 져오게 될 변화에 주목하고 있다. 가상현실의 현존감이 고도화되면서, ‘실 재와 비실재’를 대립적으로 인식하는 플라톤적 이원론은 도전받고 있으며 그에 따라 인간의 존재양식도 디지털 실존양식에 의해 재구성되고 있다. 데이비드 건켈, 자크 데리다, 보드라야르 등의 논의를 통해 ‘원본’의 가치와 ‘역사’의 권위는 디지털 실존에 적용되지 않으며, 리믹솔로지와 비순차적 배열에 의해 새로운 관계성으로 대체된다는 사실을 확인할 수 있다.
팬데믹 동안 예배당에 모일 수 없었기에 ‘온라인 예배,’ ‘온라인 성찬’을 임시적으로 실행하면서도 그 신학적 정당성을 두고 여전히 논란을 벌이고 있는 교회도 디지털 실존양식이 초래하는 변화를 회피할 수 없다. 아바타 나 증강현실 등의 디지털 장치를 활용하여 충분한 디지털 현존감을 경험할 수 있게 되고, 시공간을 초월한 디지털 네트워크 공동체 형성이 가능하게 된다면, 전통적 교회론은 더는 ‘가상’이 아닌 디지털 현실에서 실존적 재구 성을 진지하게 고민해야 한다. 본 연구는 하이디 캠벨, 피터 필립스, 테레 사 베르거 등을 통해 ‘장소’와 ‘시간’에 제한되지 않는 디지털 실존양식으로 ‘하나님의 선교’에 참여하는 교회론의 재구성의 가능성을 제안한다. 이는 한국교회의 위기를 극복하는 디지털 성육신의 한 실천이 될 것이다.

영어초록

As it has been confirmed that the world cannot return to the pre-COVID-19 world, various discussions are unfolding to prepare for the ‘post-corona era’. The progressive intellectuals who lead these discussions conduct reflection and critique of the current social system, while the science and technology fields and companies are paying attention to the changes that the digital mode of human existence will bring after the pandemic. As the presence of virtual reality becomes more sophisticated, the Platonic dualism that supports the paradigm of ‘real vs. unreal’ is being challenged, and the human mode of existence is also being reconstructed by the digital existential. Through the reference of David Gunkel, Jacques Derrida, and Jean Baudrillard, this article suggests the value of ‘the original’ and the authority of ‘history’ would not be applied to digital existence but are substituted by new relationships by the method of remixology and its re- arrangement practice.
Even the church, which temporarily implements ‘online worship’ and ‘online sacrament’ as it was unable to gather in the physical chapel during the pandemic, is still arguing over its theological justification, cannot avoid the changes brought about by the digital mode of existence. If digital devices such as ‘Avatars’ and ‘the augmented reality (AR)’ can be used to experience a sufficient digital presence, and it is possible to form a digital network community that transcends time and space in the physical world. And then we must consider seriously the possibility of reconstruction of traditional ecclesiology in the mode of digital existence which is no longer ‘virtual’ but ‘real’ enough. This study proposes the possibility of reconstructing the ecclesiology to participate in ‘Missio Dei(God's mission)’ as a digital existential religious practice that is not limited by ‘place’ and ‘time’ through discussions of Heidi Campbell, Peter Phillips, and Teresa Berger. For the Korean Church, this will be a chance as the digital Incarnation to overcome the problem of ‘the building(place) oriented’ and ‘the number(visible) oriented.'
