비만 지적장애 학생의 수영 참여에 따른 신체조성 및 뇌기능지수 변화 (Changes in the Body Composition and Brain Function Index According to Participation in Swimming of Obese Children with Intellectual Disability)

초록

이 연구의 목적은 15주간의 수영 참여가 비만 지적장애 학생의 신체조성과 뇌기능지수에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 참가자는 비만을 가진 경도 지적장애 학생 총 25명으로, 참여집단 13명과 통제집단 12명으로 나누어 참여하였다. SPSS 21.0 통계프로그램을 이용하여 사전, 사후 검사자료를 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였고, 집단(수영 집단, 통제 집단)과 시간(사전, 사후)에 대해 이원반복측정 분산분석(2-way[2] RM ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 모든 통계적 유의수준은 .05로 설정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 수영 참여는 비만 지적장애 학생의 체중, 제지방량, 체지방률, 체질량지수의 각 요인에서 집단 간 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 체중, 체지방률, 체질량지수 요인에서 측정시점에 따라 차이가 나타났으며, 신체조성의 모든 요인에서 집단과 측정시점의 상호효과가 나타났다. 체중, 체지방량, 체지방률, 체질량지수 요인의 사전검사에 비해 사후검사가 감소하였다. 둘째, 수영 참여는 비만 지적장애 학생의 정서지수와 좌우뇌균형의 각 요인에서 집단 간 차이가 나타났으며, 자기조절지수, 주의지수 우측, 정서지수, 스트레스지수 좌·우측, 그리고 브레인지수 각 요인에서 측정시점에 따라 차이가 나타났다. 또한, 자기조절지수, 주의지수 좌·우측, 활성지수, 스트레스 좌·우측, 브레인지수의 각 요인에서 집단과 측정시점의 상호효과가 나타났다. 뇌기능지수 요인의 사전검사에 비해 사후검사가 증가하였다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼때, 비만 지적장애 학생의 수영 참여가 신체조성과 뇌기능지수에 긍정적인 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of participation in a swimming program of obese children with intellectual disability on their body composition and brain function index. Total 25 children with mild intellectual disability were divided into a participation group with 13 children and a control group with 12. SPSS 21.0 was utilized to calculate average and standard deviation from pre- and post-tested data, and 2-way[2] RM ANOVA was performed regarding groups (a swimming participation group & a control group) and time (before & after). All the statistical significant levels were set up as .05. According to the study results, first, about the body composition of obese students with intellectual disability, participation in the swimming program did not result in intergroup difference in each of the factors, weight, fat-free mass, body fat percentage, and BMI. However, there was difference according to the points of measurement in the factors of weight, body fat percentage, and BMI, and in all the factors of body composition, there was mutual effect between groups and points of measurement. The factors of weight, body fat mass, body fat percentage, and BMI were reduced in the post-test more than the pre-test. Second, about the brain function index of obese students with intellectual disability, participation in the swimming program resulted in intergroup difference in each of the factors, emotional quotient and right and left brain balance, and there was difference in each of the factors, the self-control index, attention index right, emotionalquotient, stress index left·right, and brain quotient according to the points of measurement. Also, in each of the factors, the self-control index, attention index left·right, activity index, stress left·right, and brain quotient, there was mutual effect between groups and points of measurement. The factor of the brain function index increased in the post-test more than the pre-test. To sum up the above results, participation in the swimming program of obese children with intellectual disability exerts positive effects on their body composition and brain function index.
