초록

국가 간 결혼 이주가 증가하는 가운데, 두 나라의 국력 차이를 성혼 요인으로 간주하는 편견이 이주혼 가족에게 억압으로 작용하는 현상도 함께 나타나고 있다. 이주혼에 대한 편견을 바꾸기 위해서는 현재 상황을 성찰할 수 있는 계기가 필요한바, 고전소설에 형상화된 결혼 이주 서사의 양상과 갈등 해결 방식에 주목해 봄직하다.
고전소설에서 결혼 이주 서사는 대개 영웅형 남성 인물의 국외 출정과 승전을 돋보이게 하는 역할을 하지만, <유씨삼대록>의 경우 중국 남성과 외국 여성의 결혼을 국가 간 복잡한 외교 관계의 산물로 묘사하고 그에 따른 정치적 압력이 부부 관계에 미치는 영향과 갈등 양상을 서술한다는 점에서 특별하다. 명나라 남성인 소경문은 북원 여성인 양성공주의 의로움을 높이 평가하면서도, 자신이 이민족 혼인의 당사자로 지목되고 양성공주와의 혼인이 국가와 가문의 이익을 위한 수단으로 간주되는 것에 반발한다. 이주혼을 ‘집단 내 상대적 약자가 감당해야 할 조건부 계약’으로 여기는 외부의 시선은 소경문의 심리를 위축시키며, 결국 양성공주와의 부부 관계에도 부정적 영향을 불러온다. 이러한 부부 갈등 양상은 결혼 이주 여성의 배우자가 경험하는 사회적 편견이 이주혼 가족 내 갈등을 초래하는 오늘날의 상황과 유사한 점이 있다. 이주혼의 성혼 요인으로 양국의 이익 교환에 주목하며 혼인을 거래의 수단으로 간주하는 관점, 이주혼을 사회적 약자가 감당해야 할 것으로 당연시하는 관점은 오늘날에도 국제결혼에 대한 편견의 원인으로 작용하고 있으며 이주혼 가족 내부의 갈등을 유발한다.
<유씨삼대록>에서는 소경문이 유세형과의 대화를 계기로 양성공주와의 개인적 결연 과정을 상기하며 혼인에 대한 외부의 시선에서 자유로워짐으로써 부부 갈등이 해소되기 시작하는데, 이는 이주혼 부부가 겪는 갈등 해결의 단서를 부부간 개인적 유대 회복에서 찾아야 하며 주변 인물들 또한 그 과정을 지지해 주어야 함을 시사한다. 가문소설을 향유하였던 상층 여성 독자들은 국가에 대한 가문의 책임감을 자부하며 양성공주와 소경문의 혼인을 명문가 구성원의 공적 의무로 인식하였을 것이지만, 한편으로는 국가와 가문을 위해 개인의 삶이 수단화되는 현상에 대해서도 소경문과 양성공주의 부부 갈등을 통해 문제를 제기하며 해법을 모색하였다. 이처럼 집단과 개인의 관계를 입체적으로 조망하는 가문소설 <유씨삼대록>은 오늘날 결혼 이주 가족이 직면하고 있는 갈등의 원인과 해법을 객관적으로 성찰하는 계기를 마련해 줄 수 있다.

영어초록

Amid the increase in inter-country marriage migration, there is also a phenomenon in which prejudice, which regards the difference in national power between the two countries as the most important factor of marriage, acts as a repression for immigrant families. In order to change such prejudice, it is necessary to have an opportunity to reflect on the current situation, for which it is necessary to pay attention to the aspect of marriage migration narrative and conflict resolution method embodied in classical novels.
In classical novels, marriage migration narratives usually play a role in highlighting heroic male characters' overseas military serving and victories, but in the case of Yussisamdaerok(劉氏三代錄), marriage between Chinese man and foreign woman is described as a product of complex political relations between countries, and it is special in that it describes the effects of social pressure on marital relations and conflict. The Chinese man, Sogyeongmun, appreciates the righteousness of the Mongolian princess Yangseong, but he resents that he is regarded as a relative weak person in the court and family, and so is taken for granted as a party to the marriage of the immigrant woman. Sogyeongmun is also rebels against that his marriage with the foreign woman is treated as means for the benefit of the state and the family. The social prejudice, which regards the immigrant marriage as a conditional contract that a helpless person must bear, shrinks the psychology of the Sogyeongmun, and eventually has negative impact on the marital relationship with the Mongolian princess. This aspect of marital conflict is similar to today's situations in which the social prejudice experienced by the spouse of married immigrant women causes conflicts within the family. Focusing on the exchange of interests between the two countries as a factor of migrant marriage, the viewpoint of considering marriage as a means of transaction and the viewpoint that the social minority should take care of immigrant marriage are still the main causes of prejudice against international marriage and conflicts within immigrant marriage families.
In Yussisamdaerok(劉氏三代錄), the couple's conflict begins to be resolved as Sogyeongmun reminds of the process of personal relationship with Mongolian princess Yangseong through the conversation with Yusehyung and frees himself from the external pressure of the prejudice on his marriage, which suggests that the solution of the conflict experienced by the migrant couple should be found in the recovery of the couple's personal bond and that the surrounding characters should also support this process. The readers of upper-class women who enjoyed the family novels identified the nation and the family and recognized the marriage of princess Yangseong and Sogyeongmun as the national duty of the members of the prestigious family. On the other hand, the problem of the individual life becoming a means for the nation and the family was raised through the conflict between the couple. The family novel Yussisamdaerok(劉氏三代錄), which objectively looks at the relationship between nation and individual, can provide an opportunity to reflect on the causes and solutions of conflicts facing married immigrant families today.
