초록

이 논문은 경북 상주의 고대국가였던 전 사량벌국(沙梁伐國)과 후 사벌국(沙伐國) 및 고녕가야국(古寧伽倻國)의 역사 인물과 유적 유물을 통해이들 정치체의 성격과 세력의 동향에 대해 살펴본 글이다. 고조선이 신한(辰韓, 解氏), 불한(番韓, 箕氏), 말한(莫韓, 韓氏)의 삼한조선으로 분화된 이후 조선의 유민들은 한족(漢族)과 흉노의 난을피해 한반도로 남진해 왔다. 압록강 이남에 자리를 잡았던 말한 조선은 만주대륙에 있었던 신한 조선과 불한 조선의 유민들이 남진하자 지금의 낙동강 연안 오른편의 1백여 리의 땅을 신(眞)조선 유민들에게 주어 자치계(自治禊)를 세워 진한부(辰韓部)라 하였고, 낙동강연안 오른편에 다소의 지방을 갈라서 불(番)조선의 유민들에게 주어자치계(自治禊)를 세워 변한부(卞韓部)라 하였다. 마한이 구태여 진·변 양한을 세운 것은 삼신(三神) 사상에 의거하여 삼한의 수를 채운것이다. 논자는 이들 정치체의 성격과 세력의 동향을 살펴봄으로써역사 인물과 유적 유물을 기반으로 한 이들 소국의 실체에 대해 좀더 구체적으로 다가가고자 하였다. 사량벌국은 신한 조선의 통솔자였던 해씨계가 낙강 서북부에 세운강소국이었다. 또 사로국은 해모수(解慕漱)의 딸 파소(巴素)와 인연을 맺은 태백선주 박원달(朴元達) 사이에서 태어난 박혁거세(朴赫居 世)가 낙강 동남부에 세운 강소국이었다. 이들 사이는 외가였듯이전 사량벌국을 세운 해씨계와 후 사벌국을 세운 박씨계와의 긴밀한관계를 살펴볼 수 있었다. 서한왕(마한왕, 영왕)의 아들이었던 이비가지(夷毗訶之, ?~?)의 아들인 김수로(金首露)와 5형제는 각기 낙강 남북부에 6가야를 세웠다. 수로는 금관가야를, 고로는 고녕가야를 세웠다. 이들 지역에 정착하였던 신한 조선계를 이은 진한과 불한 조선계를 이은 변한이 남긴 유적과 유물은 왕성과 산성의 축조세력의차이가 다른 만큼 그 성격도 달랐다. 전 사량벌국과 후 사벌국 및 고녕가야국에 대한 문헌 기록은 매우적고 아직 이들 소국들의 유적 유물에 대한 발굴이 온전히 이루어지지 않아 분명한 결론에 도달하기는 쉽지 않다. 하지만 살펴본 것처럼 이들 두 소국의 왕도와 왕성 및 역사 인물과 유적 유물을 통하여이들 정치체의 실체를 엿볼 수 있었다. 현재 상주 사벌국면의 성안산 일대에 자리를 잡았던 사량벌국과 병풍산성 일대에 자리를 잡았던 사벌국, 상주 이안면의 숭덕산 일대와 함창읍의 오봉산 일대에자리를 잡았던 고녕가야국에 대한 지표조사와 시굴조사와 유물조사가 조금씩 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 조사와 조사에 따른 유적과 유물의 분석 과정을 통해 이들 소국의 실체에 좀더 가까이 다가갈 수있다면 우리 상고사와 고대사 인식의 지평을 넓힐 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This paper is an exploration of the ancient states, the former Saryangbul state (沙梁伐國) and the later Sabul state (沙伐國) and Gonyeng Gaya state (古寧伽倻國), located in present-day Kyungbuk Province. This article examines the character and power trends of these countries through the historical figures and relics of these countries.
After Old Chosun was divided into three-Han Chosun, Shin-Han (辰韓, 解氏), Buhl-Han (番韓, 箕氏), and Mahl-Han (莫韓, 韓氏), Chosun’s refugees fled south to the Korean Peninsula to avoid conflict between the Han Chinese and the Xiongnu.
As the refugees of Shin-Han Chosun and Buhl-Han Chosun in Manchuria fled to the south, Mahl-Han Chosun, who had settled down south of the Aprok River in the Korean Peninsula, gave about 100 li of land on the right side of the present-day Nakdong River to the Shin (眞)-Han Chosun people. The refugees established an autonomous district and named it the Jin-Han district.
They then allotted some land on the right side of the Nakdong River to the refugees of Buhl-Han Chosun, who established an autonomous system called the Byun-Han District (卞韓部). The reason Mahl-Han deliberately established the two Hans of Jin-Han and Byun-Han was to match the number of three Hans based on the idea of the three gods.
By examining the nature and power trends of these political bodies, I tried to capture the reality of these small countries in more detail based on historical figures and relics.
Saryangbul was a small but strong nation in the northwestern part of the Nak River established by the Hae Clan, the leaders of Shin-Han Chosun. Saro was also a small country in the southeast Nak River built by Hyukguhse Park (朴赫居世), born to Paso (巴素), daughter of Haemosu (解慕漱) and Won-dahl Park (朴元達), the leader of Taebaek. It also was a strong nation. Because the leaders of the two states were maternal relatives, a close relationship was observed between the Hae Clan, who established the former Saryangbeol state, and the Park Clan, who later established the Sabeol state.
We note in passing that Soo-ro Kim (金首露), the son of Ibigazi (夷毗訶 之, ?~?), the son of King Seohan (King Mahan, King Yeong), and 5 brothers each built 6 Gayas in the north and south of the Nak River.
Soo-ro built Kumgwan(Golden Crown) Gaya and Goro built Gonyeng Gaya. The relics and monuments left by Jin-Han, who succeeded to the Shin-Han Chosun lineage that settled in these areas, and Byun Han, who succeeded the Bul-Han Chosun lineage, had different characteristics, as their lineages differed There are very few documentary records on the former Saryangbul and later Sabul and Gonyeng Gaya countries, and it is not easy to reach a clear conclusion because the excavation of the remains of these small nations remains incomplete.
However, as we have seen, we could get a glimpse of the reality of these political bodies through the capitals, royal castles, historical figures, and relics of these two small countries.
The former Saryangbul state corresponds to the Mt. Sung-an area that is now part of Sabulguk-Myun in Sangjoo City in Kyungbuk Province, while the later Sabul country corresponds to the area around the present Byungpoong Fortress. The former Gonyeng Gaya state corresponds to the present-day Soongduk Mountain area of Ian Myun in Sangjoo City and the Obong Mountain area of Hamchang-Up in Kyungbuk Province.
Surface surveys, excavation surveys, and relic surveys of these ancient countries are being carried out little by little. If we can get closer to the reality of these small nations through this research process, we will be able to broaden the horizon of our knowledge and awareness of ancient history.
