2019년 백제 한성기 문헌사 연구 성과와 전망 (The Results and Prospects of Research on History of Baekje of Hanseong Period in 2019)

초록

2019년 백제 한성기 문헌사 연구 성과를 3개 분야로 나누어 살펴보았다. 먼저 백제와 馬韓의 관계는 기본 자료인 『三國志』와 『일본서기』에 대한 서술 배경과 편찬 인식을 면밀히 분석하는 방향으로 연구가 심화되고 있다. 자료의 생성과정에 대한 이해 속에서 기록의 신뢰 여부를 따지고 역사적 실체를 접근하려는 연구방법은 앞으로도 발전할 것이라고 예상된다.
대외관계사 연구는 백제 중심의 관점에서 벗어나 중국과 일본의 입장을 고려한 다원적인 외교 관계를 파악하려는 연구가 계속되고 있다. 향후 중국과 일본 고대사 연구자와의 협업과 소통을 더욱 늘려나가는 노력이 필요할 것이다. 그리고 조공·책봉관계와 같은 정치적 교섭뿐만 아니라, 항로의 변경과 사람·정보·물건의 교류 양상을 분석한 입체적인 연구가 활성화되고 있다. 한편, 나제동맹에 대한 재검토는 교과서에 서술된 역사용어와 개념을 무비판적으로 받아들였던 연구경향에서 벗어나 역동적인 삼국의 외교 관계를 복원하고자 한 시도라고 평가된다.
사회문화사 연구는 부족한 자료의 여건 속에서도 성씨, 유학교육, 여성의 節行觀, 始祖 제사, 새의 관념 등 백제 사람들의 일상과 사유를 복원할 수 있는 여러 성과가 제출되었다. 앞으로도 다양한 사회문화사 연구 주제가 계발되고 활성화되길 바란다.
백제 한성기 연구 성과는 학계뿐만 아니라 시민의 교양과 역사의식을 키우는 자양분이 되어야 한다. 따라서 최신 연구 성과가 반영된 대중 교양서의 출간과 다양한 플랫폼을 활용한 정보 전달에 연구자의 관심이 지속되어야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This article reviewed the results of research on history of Baekje of Hanseong(漢城) period in 2019 in three parts. First, regarding the research on the relationship between Baekje and Mahan(馬韓), the research is deepening in close analysis of the narrative background and awareness of compilation about the basic materials, the Records of the Three Kingdoms(三國志) and Nihon Shoki(日本書紀). A research method that attempts to determine the reliability of the materials and to approach the historical substance based on the understanding of the production process of materials is expected to develop in the future.
Research on foreign relations history keeps attempting to grasp the pluralistic diplomatic relations considering the positions of China and Japan, rather than focusing on Baekje centered view. This research needs effort to increase further cooperation and communication with ancient history researchers from China and Japan in the future. In addition, stereoscopic research that analyzes not only political negotiations such as tribute-investiture relationship, but also changes in courses and exchanges of people, information, and goods is being activated. On the other hand, the review of the term Silla-Baekje Alliance is considered to be an attempt to restore the dynamic diplomatic relations of the three kingdoms of Korea apart from the research trend that uncritically accepted the historical terms and historical awareness described in the textbooks.
Despite the lack of materials, the research of socio-cultural history has been submitted various results to restore the daily life and thoughts of the Baekje people such as family name, Confucianism education, women’s perspective on chastity(節行觀), ancestral rites for the first ancestor(始祖), and the notion of birds. It is hoped that various research topics in socio-cultural history will be developed and activated in the future.
The results of research on Baekje of Hanseong period should be a nourishment to cultivate citizenship and historical awareness for citizens as well as academia. Therefore, researchers should continue to pay attention to the publication of liberal arts books for public which reflect the latest research results and to the delivery of information using various platforms.
