1980년대 교지의 문예담론과 실천 연구 (A study on literary discourseand practice in school magazine in the 1980s)

초록

한국 학생운동의 전성기라고 평가되는 1980년대 학생운동은 세시기로 나눌 수 있다. 1980년대 초반 학생들은 엘리트의식으로 충만하여 사회 변혁의 선두에 서고자 했지만 소시민적 운동이었다는 비판을 받는다. 1980년대 중반에서 1987년 무렵까지 학생운동 그룹은 노동자계급과의 연대투쟁, 반미와 통일운동 등으로 대중의 지지를 받게 되고, 운동권이 아닌 학생들도 집회와 시위에 참여할 정도로 운동이 보편화되었다. 세 번째 시기인 1980년대 말에서 90년대 초 학생운동은 조직화, 무력(武力)화, 좌경화된다.
이러한 변혁운동의 시기 각 대학에서 교지가 활발하게 발간된다. 학생운동그룹이 편집자 혹은 창작자가 되어 교지를 정치적, 이념적 노선을 표방하는 선전매체 혹은 이념의 교육자료 활용했고, 학생운동을 지지했기 때문에 학생운동의 변모과정에 따라 구성과 내용 등 편집방향이 변한다. 교지의 논조는 사회과학적 담론이 대부분을 차지하지만 본고는 문예담론, 즉 문예에 관한 이론과 비평, 논문, 창작에 집중해서 학생운동의 변화에 따른 문예담론의 변화와 실천을 고찰하였다.
학생운동권 그룹이나, 동시대를 함께 했던 학생들은 인간답게 살아가고, 자유를 누리며, 정당한 보상을 받는 노동, 모든 사람들이 평등한 삶을 누리는 세계를 소망했다. 이러한 생각을 문예이론으로도 창작으로도 제시했다. 외국의 경우 학생운동이 사회운동에서 운동의 방향을 결정했던 나라는 거의 없어 보인다. 그리고 외국 대학생들이 잡지를 통해 사회운동을 조직화한 경우 역시 발견하기 어렵다. 그렇기 때문에 민주화운동 시기 교지에 나타난 대학생들의 ‘문예담론’을 고찰하는 것은 세계 학생운동사에서도 특이하고 의미있는 일이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

The 1980s was the heyday of the Korean student movement. The student movement in the 1980s can be divided into three periods. In the early 1980s, students were full of elite consciousness. The students tried to be at the forefront of social change, but they are criticized for being a small citizen. From the mid-1980s to around 1987, the student movement group gained public support through solidarity struggles with the working class and anti- Americanism and unification movements. The movement became so common that even non-activist students participated in rallies and demonstrations. The student movement during this period was evaluated as romantic. The third period, the late 1980s and early 1990s, was a period of organized, armed, and left-leaning student movements.
During this period of transformation, each university actively publishes school magazines. Student movement groups become editors or creators. The students used the educational materials of propaganda media or ideology that advocated political and ideological lines. Because the editors supported the student movement, the editorial direction, such as the composition and content of the school magazine, changes according to the transformation process of the student movement. Most of the tone of school magazine is social science discourse. However, this thesis focused on literary discourse, that is, theories and criticisms, thesis, and actual creation of literary arts. And the change and practice of literary discourse according to the change of the student movement was examined.
Students from the student activist group and their contemporaries hoped for a world where people could live like human beings, enjoy freedom, work with fair compensation, and enjoy an equal life. And these ideas were presented both in literary theory and in actual creation. In the case of foreign countries, there are few countries where the student movement has determined the direction of the social movement. It is also difficult to find cases where foreign university students organized social movements through school magazine. Therefore, it can be said that it is unique and meaningful in the history of the world student movement to examine the ‘literary discourse’ of university students published in the school magazines during the democratization movement period.
