초록

본 연구는 1900년대 신문 잡지 등 대중매체에 발표된 詩歌 관련 담론의 감정 논의를 분석하고 이들 매체에 실린 시가 작품 특히 시조와의 관련 양상을 살핌으로써 시조문학에 대한 새로운 인식을 고찰하고자 하였다.
1900년대 시가담론은 감정의 분출을 적극 권장하는 가운데 촉발된 감정을 애국적 열정으로 결집시키고자 하는 계몽적 문학전략을 기획한다. 새롭게 등장한 신문․잡지 등 대중매체를 통해 시조와 같은 전통적이고 대중적인 장르를 호명하되그 시가의 내용과 감정구조면에서는 개혁과 개량을 통해 국혼이 담긴 강무한 國詩로서의 시가로 구축하고자 한 것이다.
애국적 감정의 분출과 결집을 위해 일상생활의 개인적인 감정, 즉 사랑, 이별의슬픔과 같은 본능에 가까운 통속적 감정들은 풍속과 성정을 어지럽히는 것으로 간주되어 개량과 배제의 대상으로 규정된다. 오직 시국에 대한 분노와 울분, 애국적감정만이 조명되고 선택되는데, 신문․잡지와 같은 대중매체에 개량된 시조 작품등을 게재함으로써 구조화된 감정의 확산을 꾀한다. 아울러 독자투고 형식을 통해대중들의 호응을 이끌어내고 구조화된 감정의 내면화를 촉진한다.
1900년대 신문매체를 통해 시조는 國詩로서 호명되고 미래 국민문학․전통문학의 正典으로서의 가능성을 실험하게 되는 기회를 갖게 된다. 신문매체의 감정논의와 시조에 대한 專有는 시조사적 맥락에서는 매우 중요한 문학사회학적 실험이었다고 할 수 있다. 정치 환경의 변화에 따른 좌절로 충분한 실험이 이루어지지는 못했지만 의미 있는 시도로 평가된다. 한편으로 시조의 주제의식이 정치․사회적인것으로 획일화됨으로써 나타난 부정적 학습효과는 후대의 시조부흥운동과 같은 문학활동에 영향을 끼치기도 했다.

영어초록

This research investigates the new recognition of literature of traditional Korean verse called Sijo by analyzing the discussion of discourse about emotion in relation to Korean poetry, published in the mass media such as newspaper and magazines in 1900s and exploring the relation between Korean poetries,which were put in the mass media, and traditional Korean verses called Sijo.
The discourse of poetry in 1900s planned the enlightening literature strategy through actively recommending the eruption of emotion and unifying this feeling, provoked by patriotic ardor. In other words, the efforts were made in order to establish the national poetry which contains national spirit through the reformation and modernization in the contents and emotions as well as calling of traditional and popular genre like Sijo(Traditional Korean verse),which were emerged newly.
The individual feeling of the daily life such as vulgar emotion of love and separation was regraded as thing to disturb customs and sentiment, and became the objects of exclusion and reformation in order to unify the patriotic feeling. Only, anger and resentment about the national situation were selected and illuminated. This kind of structured emotion was disseminated through carrying the works of Sijo on the section of newspapers and magazines. As well,the response of readers was attracted by the readers' contributions and the internalization of structured feeling was promoted to the public.
Sijo was called as national poetry through newspaper in 1900s, and it got the opportunity to experiment its possibility as the canon. It is said that the discussion of newspaper about emotion and the appropriation of Sijo were very essential experiments in the sociology of literature in the historical context of traditional Korean verse. Experiment was not sufficiently conducted due to the frustration according to the change of the political environment, but it was evaluated as a meaningful attempt. Meanwhile, learning effect of the standardization of theme in Sijo for the political and social purpose had a negative effect on the literature activity of next generations involving Sijo recovery movement.
